Located near beautiful Brixham, close to Berry Head Nature Reserve and just a short walk from the South West Coast Path, The Weary Ploughman Inn is a wonderful spot for a satisfying meal.

As well as favourite pub classics, the bar menu offers gourmet homemade pizzas, while the à la carte menu features sophisticated, seasonally changing dishes, all freshly prepared. A great Sunday lunch menu is also available, including a range of late brunch options besides the traditional roast. The ingredients are locally sourced where possible, with fish purchased daily from the local Brixham market. Start with the likes of seared scallops with black pudding, followed by seared sea bass fillet with sautéed chorizo. From the dessert menu, enjoy poached rhubarb with ginger panna cotta, or chocolate and raspberry tart with Devon clotted cream.

Many of the drinks are also from Devon, with local real ales, wines, and gins, as well as Luscombe and Frobisher adult soft drinks.

The Weary Ploughman Inn sits next to Churston Rail Station, an 8-minute drive from Brixham.

Bit dreary outside from the road but inside is lovely. Great service and stunning food

Arrived too early for our booking. Was greeted with a warm friendly welcome. Then our booking was moved one hour earlier without any fuss. Simon, who greeted us was a great host. Very helpful and sociable. We was Made to feel like we were valued long time customers, not first time visitors to the establishment. The service staff were again friendly attentive and helpful. The food was and drink was excellent and we would have no hesitation in recommending to our friends. If I had had to put any negative, it would be that the curry had very little to no curry sauce on it. That said it did not ruin my dining experience and we would return.

A long time since I last used this hotel and what a change in all aspects. Great staff and very good food served in a bright, airy, well decorated atmosphere. I shall be back.

We had a very enjoyable evening but unfortunately the food was not up to its usual high standard

    Very welcoming staff.
Lovely polished tables with no sticky surfaces!
I had pizza which had obviously just been made; it was delicious with walnuts on top. My husband had fish and yummy chips. He said that the fish tasted like it had just jumped out of the sea. The creme brulee was also very enjoyable with a nice crisp topping.
Would definitely recommend The Weary Ploughman.
