Located near beautiful Brixham, close to Berry Head Nature Reserve and just a short walk from the South West Coast Path, The Weary Ploughman Inn is a wonderful spot for a satisfying meal.

As well as favourite pub classics, the bar menu offers gourmet homemade pizzas, while the à la carte menu features sophisticated, seasonally changing dishes, all freshly prepared. A great Sunday lunch menu is also available, including a range of late brunch options besides the traditional roast. The ingredients are locally sourced where possible, with fish purchased daily from the local Brixham market. Start with the likes of seared scallops with black pudding, followed by seared sea bass fillet with sautéed chorizo. From the dessert menu, enjoy poached rhubarb with ginger panna cotta, or chocolate and raspberry tart with Devon clotted cream.

Many of the drinks are also from Devon, with local real ales, wines, and gins, as well as Luscombe and Frobisher adult soft drinks.

The Weary Ploughman Inn sits next to Churston Rail Station, an 8-minute drive from Brixham.

We hadn't been to the Weary Ploughman for years but were temped with the loyalty card offer so thought we would give it a try. We were greeted by a very pleasant young Man who showed us to our table and gave us some menus. We chose some bread, olives and chorizo to share which were absolutely delicious! The bread was really lovely. For mains my Husband had liver and I had the pork loin. I was slightly worried about the pork as sometimes pork can be dry. But this dish was superb I enjoyed every mouthful of it!! And the liver dish went down very well too! We decided to have a desert too which were delicious also. The free bottle of wine with our meal, a Chardonnay was one of the best i have had, not just a cheap rough house wine, but a smooth quality one. So all in all a fabulous meal with fabulous friendly efficient staff, would recommend and we will be back!

A party of 7 of us ate here recently. The menu choice is lovely, some standard things and some more unusual things to please everyone. The wine list is exceptional.
Great service too, friendly and approachable staff. We all really enjoyed our meal.
I have already booked to return.

We returned here after an excellent meal in August, and we took 2 friends. We all really enjoyed the meal. The overall experience was excellent, good food, drinks and service.

Excellent service and great food with lots of choice. I chose moules mariniere to start, followed by whole plaice. Both were excellent and the three times cooked chips served with the plaice were the best I've had anywhere!
