8/9 had a fabulous food experience but after taking great care to understand my Husband is seriously allergic to all members of the Onion family, he was served a burger which contained not only a slice of onion but had onion relish on the side!

A light-filled gastro pub tucked away on the outskirts of Milton Keynes, The Wavendon Arms is an idyllic, country-style establishment with a large outdoor dining space. The airy restaurant has a mix of wooden and wicker chairs, wooden floors, and log fires, making it both contemporary and homey. The large bar area, with its many leather armchairs and décor fashioned out of firewood, provides a cosy space to enjoy a drink.

With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Wavendon Arms menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest available ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.

The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Wavendon Arms bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and eclectic sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.

The Wavendon Arms in Buckinghamshire is a 2-minute drive from Woburn Sands Railway Station.

Food was delicious and the ambience good. Service by Dom Grantley Smith was excellent. He was very attentive but not over the top. Very friendly and customer service orientated.

The booking system for a table was really easy. I liked the online booking option. The food and the service was excellent, yet I don't want to seem picky.. but one of my Guests had ordered the pork belly. And it came with a very fatty skin. It had not been crisped off as is normally the case with pork belly, so he had to take it off and leave it to one side.
Another colleague ordered battered cod.. and he found the cod to be minimal, and inside the batter it was very oily. Making the fish very oily too.
Generally the other dishes were OK. Just these 2 were below par but edible.

Food quality was good and the attitude of the staff also good.
Sadly our drinks order was forgotten and our dessert arrived prior to our main course. Overall although slightly annoying it did not affect the meal and I am sure at one stage or another we will return.

Warm welcome from the waitress, good atmosphere and appealing décor. The food was excellent, well cooked and well presented from an interesting and varied menu. Really enjoyed the black pudding starter.

Service was very slow and some of the dishes were very poor. Our lamb kofta's were burnt and the pizza's were so spicy hot they could not be eaten. Having eaten there previously and had a good meal this time very disappointed. The manager did agree to not charge for the pizza's. The rest of the food was okay.

Lovely ambiance, polite friendly staff. Been here several times over the last year and I have to say that portions seem to be getting smaller, of less quality and therefore over priced. Being honest, we won't be rushing back.
