Last night i did order the curry and narm bread i got the curry but had to ask for the bread again and when it came i did not realy want it,i think maybe a cheesecake or mousse would be nice on the sweet menu, but that is because i love them,

As usual a very enjoyable meal. Food was excellent and service just at the right level to allow a good catch up with an old friend.

Lovely venue with an open fire. Menu is full of proper hearty pub food that you crave during winter, not this nonsense lots of other pubs serve in an effort to emulate overpriced London restaurants. On a cold day, when I'm hungry I'd have no interest in paying £15 for a solitary scallop on a bed of cucumber foam.
My party thoroughly enjoyed their lamb shank, rib eye steak, lamb roganjosh and I had a thick sirloin, pink all the way through that you could've cut with a butter knife.
The only gripes I could name were;
- a mix up with my first steak (that by the time a replacement arrived, the rest of my party had finished eating).
- despite the restaurant being quite quiet, another party were seated right next to us and had to apologise as they squeezed passed to get to there seats. I've never understood why some restaurants do this; there was a big enough table to accommodate them on the other side of the dining area and I'm sure that party - as much us - would've appreciated a little personal space in which to hold their conversation.
Despite this, the excellent food and constantly friendly and helpful staff mean I will happily return.

This restaurant needs to get its act together. Either they do a £5,99 lunch with soft drink (advertised in the Clarion and a leaflet on the tables) or, as they tried to tell me, it's a sandwich!!! Their menu is actually very expensive and basically caters for business people who maybe staying at their motel on expenses. This is my third and last time I'm going to be embarrassed by them. No wonder there's hardly anyone there.

All 4 diners had the steak and chips which was cooked beautifully.
Need more pub grub choices on the menu.
Was quite smoking in there due the firewood being damp, at one point the doors had to be opened to clear the air.
