Excellent meal. Th ambience is always pleasant and the staff very helpful. I have a nut allergy and the chef kindly adapted the dish to make it safe for me! All the flavours were wonderful, and carefully prepared and presented.

Overlooking a beautiful lily pad-covered pond, with al fresco patio seating and a stunning conservatory dining room, The Tickell Arms is the embodiment of charming British village pub tradition.

Modern British and European flavours feature throughout the Tickell Arms menu, made with seasonal locally sourced produce. Classic gourmet recipes include smoked haddock and leek fishcakes, and vegetarian delicacies such as squash and Taleggio dumplings with marjoram butter. There are also succulent dry-aged steaks, and gluten and dairy-free options too.

The wine selection at The Tickell Arms in Cambridge focuses on the Languedoc-Roussillon of France, and there are a range of cask ales also on tap at the bar. For dessert, diners can sample inventive treats like baked blueberry cheesecake with blueberry purée and prosecco sorbet.

With crackling fireplaces inside, and with quirky design touches like bowler hat lamps, The Tickell Arms boasts a lovely sense of whimsy. Whittlesford Parkway Rail Station is a 4-minute drive away.

Sunday lunch slow-cooked lamb was dry and it was suggested by my guests that it was the wrong joint: shoulder is preferred for this dish.
    Conversely, the beef was outstanding.
Spoilt by a poorly dressed diner who sat at table with a loud baseball cap on his head. OK perhaps for a US roadside place but not the TA surely? As I left I suggested to the manageress that he be asked to remove it but doubted she had the courage. To be fair I have no idea how such matters should be handled. Oh for the good old days. He wouldn't have been allowed in.

This is a really good restaurant located in a small Cambridgeshire village. We found it last year when we were staying in Whittlesford whilst visiting the IWM Duxford and the RAF Regiment Museum at RAF Honington. It is one of 5 such restaurants the parent Company own, in and around Cambridge. The menu is well put together with a lot of local produce. The service is excellent and the food is well cooked as very tasty.

The ambience was splendid -- big room, lovely views. The restaurant had a very noisy party next to our table which rather distracted from the idea of a quiet peaceful lunch. The food was a little disappointing. I ordered Sole and new potatoes from the main menu, looking forward to something light and clean,, but when it came both the fish and new potatoes were fried and very oily. I ordered sorbet for dessert, but it never arrived.
