Main course: £10

Beautiful setting. Fab meal and service. Only negative is that when booking I said it was to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary but no recognition of this by the staff.

Winner of 2 AA Rosettes and an AA Notable Wine List award, The Three Gables sits inside a stunning 17th-century Grade II-listed rubble stone building, and offers diners a wonderful ambience to go with the inventive modern menu.

Beautifully presented, the Three Gables menu is filled with eclectic European flavours with Mediterranean influences. Cornish haddock ravioli with creamed Jerusalem artichoke is light and delicate, while poached guinea fowl is served with 32-months aged parmesan and rosemary risotto, and crispy oyster mushrooms. Regional produce is also championed at the Three Gables Bath, as seen with the fillet of Lackham beef with glazed carrot and potato fondant.

To finish, traditional British desserts like rhubarb crumble with port syrup and rice pudding ice cream are served, as well as European treats such as almond chocolate fondant with amarena cherry. The award-winning Three Gables wine list boasts superb bottles from across the globe, with wine producers holding events at the restaurant throughout the year.

A wonderfully intimate restaurant steeped in history, The Three Gables is a 2-minute walk from Bradford-on-Avon Rail Station.

We were kept waiting for an hour before being shown to table, waited 5 minutes for sides to go with the meal. It was expensive for main course and you had to pay extra for the sides

Excellent better than expected. A starter of scolops
with only one on the plate. !!! That is taking the Micky !

Excellent food and service. The only negative was the awful and unnecessary musac. Please if we must have this background noise can it be relaxing orchestral not intrusive singing.

The service was very friendly and welcoming. We had the tasting menu though the first dish came as a bit of a surprise as we had been given the old menu in error . I wasn't keen on the virtually raw egg yolk served with the asparagus and could taste it for hours after, the raw prawn risotto lacked seasoning but I have old tastebuds! The duck was fine though I would have preferred it pinker ( my husbands was fine) and I can't remember the dessert so it could not have been wonderful. Having said that it was extremely reasonably priced and more like the Italian food we experienced in Italy than other Italian restaurants . My other half had the flight of wines, he has a very large wine collection and he was impressed with the wines and the very knowledgable explanation given by the Restraunt manager who served it. On the whole I would say it was good value. We do eat it a lot of Michelin starred places and some that should be,so it is easy to be over critical. For the ambiance I would go again but the food was not all to my taste.
