So disappointing. We wanted to eat in Thetford rather than Bury. The restaurant is lovely, nicely decorated and cosy ambiance but the food is truly shocking.
Fish and chips is pretty straight forward but non of us have had cod like this before, it was 'minced' and formed into a fish shape. We returned it but were served up the same type of reconstituted fish again. The bannoffee pie was still frozen in parts and served with runny squirty cream. We were unable to have cocktails as the menu was not available

Luxury afternoon tea, the sandwich fillings were very generous and tasty. All the cakes were lovely and we got to take the leftovers home!

The food was excellent as always and the service top class, however when we looked at the menu online it stated that fish and chips were available however when we arrived the meal was not available so it was all meat or the two vegetarian options.

Lovely ambience, lovely food. Scones were quite small, but given the rest of the food was probably for the best! Would have been nice to have butter for the cheese scone. Only downside was I had to find the staff to get another pot of coffee.

Thourghly enjoyed celebratory afternoon tea at The Thomas Paine. Service excellent, cakes delicious & plentiful. Think they could just raise the bar a bit with the sandwiches & mini scones. They brought a cake with a candle for my Mum in Laws 89th birthday which was a lovely touch. I'd both recommend & go again.
