A converted 18th-century schoolhouse in Portsmouth, The Theatre Restaurant and Bar is a venture from Britain’s youngest restaurateur, Dail Berry. A restaurant, theatre and bar all rolled into one, The Theatre retains its antique character whilst serving contemporary British cuisine.

Incorporating local produce, The Theatre menu offers refined British classics like chicken liver parfait, fresh Hampshire pork belly in apple and cider sauce, and roast chicken breast in a white wine sauce. Vanilla ice cream is homemade, and is served with pressed hot fruits, while lunch offerings include homemade pies and quiches of the day, alongside soups, omelette and pasta.

The Theatre Restaurant and Bar in Portsmouth is home to a variety of different theatrical acts and local talents, with all performances offered for free on Sundays. Antique trinkets and elegant circular dining tables characterise the restaurant interior, which also features a rustic open fireplace.

A grand, high roofed building in Portsea, The Theatre is a 6-minute walk from the Portsmouth Harbour.
