The dinner at the Tasting Room was outstanding. It was exciting, innovative and wonderful. My partner and I liked all of it, and also enjoyed the novelty of not eating the same throughout the tasting menu.

This visit was more than just about good food - the experience was exceptional - food wine and service was one of the best in SA.. if not the absolute best.
I loved that we both received different dishes which gave us both a double treat. Your staff are really special.
All dishes came out served with love.
And we loved our experience because of it.
I loved the layout of the restaurant and the atmosphere .. sophisticated but not stuffy and stiff
Really sad that Margot has left.

Over expectations and underwhelmed. Felt like a factory production line - staff were just going with the motions except Pauline who was engaging and fun. Too little food with too much wine. Not a single item of food was delicious and memorable. We don't think African inspired theme pulled it off from a taste experience. The décor was very uninspiring and completely flat and characterless. We have eaten at The Test Kitchen, The Greenhouse and La Colombe recently and had incredible dining experiences from the food and wine pairing to the staff and restaurant ambience. Disappointing at Le Quartier.

Extremely warm and attentive service, in a charming and artistic space. Inventive, playful and surprising dishes - many of them! The tasting flight of accompanying wines were in very generous portions.
Get here before they close at the end of April!

We ate at the Tasting Room. We understand it will close for good in one month, pity. The experience was great. Between the four of us we had 19 different dishes with paired wines. The wines were of good quality but not spectacular in themselves. They were however expertly paired with the food. While some dishes were better than others the overall creativity, quality and experience was truly world class.
We particularly liked the oyster and Chardonnay combination as well as the Bird nest over buffalo yogurt w/ Qual egg w/ Syrah and the Celery crisps & elan w/ Cab
The staff were delightful and showed great passion and pride in the food and their role in its enjoyment.
