With a fairy-lit beer garden to enjoy on balmy summer evenings, The Swan – Milton Keynes is a restored pub & restaurant in the peaceful village of Woburn Sands. Serving a menu of unfussy yet flavoursome modern British pub food, the restaurant is dotted with candle-lit tables and its roaring log fire & exposed red brick wall make it a rustic retreat away from the bustle of the town nearby.

Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Swan menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.

A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Swan – Milton Keynes cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.

The Swan in Milton Keynes is a 12-minute walk from Woburn Sands Rail Station.

We stopped here as a break in our journey from Cambridgeshire to Wiltshire. We arrived early compared to our booking, but were welcomed in and served in good time. Disappointing that we could not bring our dog into the pub - so many pubs and cafes do now allow well behaved dogs. The food was good, and lived up to the description. Service was OK, but we had to wait a bit for the server to find us on a couple of occasions - I got the impression they were under-staffed. The room was bit on the chilly side. The log fire was a nice touch, but we were too far away to get the benefit. The toilets were ever colder, and apparently the ladies was somewhat smelly.
Overall the stop filled the need and we went on our way sustained for the remainder of the journey.

Burger was a ok however asked for extra bacon which was less than half a rasher, not good. The chocolate brownie was very disappointing, texture poor and not up to previous brownies served at the Swan. Not sure we will return as quality has fallen since our previous visits.

Visited several times before. As a wheelchair user I find very accessible, including loo. Table and food were good although an umber of options were not available on the day.
