Housed in an old coaching inn dating back to the 17th century, and with a terrace for al fresco dining in the warmer months, The Swan Inn – Amersham is a traditional village pub renovated with contemporary flair. Serving uncomplicated yet delicious modern British pub food, this pub & restaurant comprises rustic wooden furniture, gilded mirrors adorning the walls & plenty of leather-and-tweed-covered armchairs to sink into.

Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Swan Inn menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.

A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Swan Inn – Amersham cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.

The Swan Inn in Amersham is a 14-minute walk from Amersham Rail Station.

Waited over 1 hr between starter and main course despite arriving at 7pm and only being 2 people.

Very nice evening with lovely atmosphere and great food. Even though we were late to our table by 30 minutes (we telephoned to say we had been delayed) it was no problem. Have dined here before and will be back again.

Nice welcome from the bar staff, had a coffee in the lounge whilst waiting for my friend to arrive. Table was ready and we were served quickly, food arrived in good time, nice sized portions, very tasty (chicken & bacon salad with a side of sweet potato fries) followed by coffee and mini dessert. Toilets were also very clean!

A relaxing evening with staff available but not constantly asking questions. I noticed the waitress being particularly kind and charity to an older couple sat near us who loved the attention.

    The food was very good

The 25% off the bill deal made this very attractive.

Friendly accommodating service, pleasant mix of 'pub' and dining atmosphere, great location, very good value for money, definitely will return. Food was excellent, extensive choice which must be a challenge for the kitchen but the food turned out very well. When bill arrived we were pleasantly surprised. It was then taken away for correction and we thought and expected an increase. Instead a double counting had been spotted by the manager (not by us!) and the amount was adjusted downwards. Honesty on top!

I went with my husband for a Sunday roast and chose the three meat selection. I had squash soup to start with which was very good.
Then went on to the roast dinner which was very average as the food was luke warm and the vegetables comprised of mainly carrots and a few bits of cabbage. Overall this was a disappointing experience as we have been to the Swan many times before.
Also we were the only people in the downstairs restuarant which gave it no atmosphere until a guy from the bar came in and spent ten minutes shouting to somebody on a mobile phone.
Not a very good overall experience .
