Starting its life as a coaching inn in the 18th century, The Swan has always been central to travellers, and in the past its rich tapestry attracted such luminaries and artists as William Morris, Gustav Holst, and Edward Johnstone. A traditional London pub with cosy, welcoming interiors, it offers a delicious menu of well-loved British dishes.

With Nicholson’s pubs first established in 1873, the fleet has become synonymous with warm hospitality, heart pub food and a speciality stock of ales. Constantly featuring recipes are bolstered by a seasonally-changing range of specials on the Nicholson’s menu, with favourites including home-breaded chicken Kiev, or a sharing cottage pie. Also enjoy old-school desserts and nourishing breakfasts.

At the Nicholson’s bar, expect to find 25 guest ales changing with the seasons, a resident cask master, and carefully-matched ale and food pairing suggestions. Compiled with equal care, the Swan drinks list features easy drinking wines, artisan soft drinks and classic cocktail mixes.

The Swan in Hammersmith is a minute’s walk from Hammersmith Tube Station.

I liked the place, very convenient in front of Hammersmith tube station...nevertheless, very "british style"!!!
Service was friendly, fast , very nice with children.
    And my LAMB......was awesome!!!!

Lovely food (although it wasn't actually the burger I had ordered but I decided not to say anything as it had taken so long already). Terrible service. Took half an hour for the food to arrive and when we tried to chase it after 25 mins the waitress did her best to avoid eye contact with us because she knew what we going to ask. When we did speak to her she told us that it was standard practice there for the food to take 30 mins to arrive. Pretty sure that's not acceptable in most restaurants.

We visited The Swan before an evening at the Apollo Hammersmith. The Restaurant is well located and offered a good choice of menu. The food was good and they were able to cater to my request for chips without pre-salting which was much appreciated. The portion size of the mushy peas was miniscule but tasted nice nevertheless. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant compared to the bar downstairs. We would go back

Really pleased with picked the Swan for pre show meal. Booked for the bar & restaurant upstairs. Staff very friendly and service was efficient so we didn't have to rush the meal to make the show. Burgers were amazing huge portion and good value for money. Will go back when next in the area, highly recommended

Great old school pub with welcoming atmosphere and one of the few places left in London that allows conversations between people enjoying themselves to be the background sound rather than not blasting music at you. Good service and food.
