Varied menu and all of the meals were of a high standard. Gastrp food, decent portion, enjoyed every morsel!
The bar area was busy until 8pm and clearly supported by people from the local area. A good atmosphere.

Good menu and well cooked food with an excellent wine list (although it would have been good to see more English wines on the list), slightly let down by rather slow service.

Excellent choice of food, very friendly service and great ambience. Have been to The Swan many times before and look forward to our next visit.

A pleasant environment, sufficiently retaining it's pub history with a modicum of modernity. The food and drink were of a high standard and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

Service was friendly and efficient. Together with the relaxing ambience (upstairs room) this made a very nice overall atmosphere in which to enjoy an excellent meal.
We particularly liked the goat's cheese fritters (starter). Both the duck and grilled steak mains were good. A particular point for us was the very nicely cooked vegetables that accompanied each dish. Our evaluation is 4.5 stars (wherever we have opted for four), but the webiste does not allow half stars. The half star deduction reflects points that we felt could still be improved - for example, in the case of food, the mashed potato was a little on the dry side for our taste and the 'medium' steak a little too much cooked. But these reflect personal taste rather than objective evaluation. We would definitely recommend this place.

Lovely food, meat just melted in the mouth. Menu options has a slightly different twist. I had a plum and almond tart for dessert with elderflower sorbet, very tasty. Having never visited before I booked a table in the restaurant which actually turned out to be an alcove in the bar which was a bit noisy on a Friday evening and initially a bit drafty initially as we were seated fairly close to the door.

Lovely meal and great staff. Best steak and kidney pudding ever.

lovely atmosphere being in a busy pub, very friendly and attentive staff and owner, we had the courgette and tomato cheesecake with salad, new potatoes, a slightly spicy chutney and the red pepper risotto, followed by sticky toffee pudding and the greengage and almond tart with elderflower ands tonic sorbet, excellent quality, very nice wines as well.
