We actually ate here twice. Food on both occasions was very good, tasty, well presented and good value. The belly pork with black pudding and beetroots was almost too much to eat but the cod loin on leeks was less daunting. The waiting staff were great - never showing signs of stress even if the place on the Friday was heaving and a party of 12 near to our table. Only had a main course each on night 1 and a main course each and 1 desert on night 2. The place certainly seems to have cornered the market in Bampton as other venues were hardly occupied when we returned to our accommodation

The food is just amazing and the hospitality was second to none. It was very difficult to choose what to have as it all sounded amazing. Went with the belly pork for main in the end and wow! I loved it :) The staff were all very nice and the landlord is a great guy, a fellow gin enthusiast! Definitely will be going back and highly recommended +++++

Thank you we had a lovely evening as a group of friends catching up with each other. The ambience of the room , the attentive staff and the superb food all made for a very enjoyable evening. Of our party of 6 , I was the only one who had been there before and all the others said they would definitely come again and recommend it to others. The choice of food on the menu was very good, the portion sizes and presentation was great and the food itself was delicious.

A really good evening with a true feel of being involved with the local folk as we dined in the bar.
We selected the set menu which was a remarkably good value 3 course meal and was of superb quality. Staff were very attentive and it was pleasing to see the chef circulating to ensure all was well.
    We will most certainly return

Good menu and well cooked food with an excellent wine list (although it would have been good to see more English wines on the list), slightly let down by rather slow service.
