This was my second visit in just over a month, both occasions were groups of over 8 people. The atmosphere was very nice, the staff were friendly and attentive and coped very well with our groups with all courses arriving together even though the restaurant was full.
The food was of a good standard, with our group covering over half the options ( only minor points was partridge a little over done and the lamb a little rare for some taste ) but these a very minor points and overall everyone enjoyed their meal.

Very busy Sunday lunch. Food was good but the roast potatoes were very tough due to being sat around for a long time. That said it was excellent value for money and it a perfect location

I was at the swan a few years ago, impressed with the food and wanted to go back. But i could tell from the start something had changed. It was open for boxing day and we managed to find a table for eight which saved us but brought a question mark in my mind. I could tell The menu had changed to a very commercial one and even included a kids menu with chicken fingers (all traditional pubs have pasta if you ask them to make one, no need for a kids menu in the country sid ). Our sausage and steak was average at best. It had lost all the authenticity it had and the classic pub touch is gone. The old menu or simar has to come back with a real chef. I asked at the end of the meal and it had changed hands a few years ago. I hope the new owners bring the old food back.
