Set in idyllic Northamptonshire countryside, The Swan at Lamport blends a contemporary setting and hearty British cuisine. The sunny garden and patio are offset by plush sofas and smart pillar box red seating indoors.

Prioritising freshness, superb ingredients are used to craft The Swan menu, and a daily-changing selection offers adventurous flavours. Taking inspiration from the season, typical options include sea bass with tempura cauliflower and wilted spinach, or a succulent beef fillet with blue cheese and mushroom gratin.

Charming yet sophisticated, the dining room at The Swan restaurant showcases expanses of polished wood, subtle lighting and cosy corners for a more intimate ambience. An impressive selection from behind the bar includes fine world wines and smooth ales.

Enjoying a glittering reputation in the local area, The Swan Lamport twins traditional country pub charm and an on trend bistro setting. The historic village of Brixworth is 5 minutes’ drive away.

Terrible experience as we waited over an hour to receive our meals.
We were at the point of walking out just as the meals arrived & were told that one chef had left & they were struggling to keep up.
Had we been advised of this at the beginning we could have accepted the wait or chosen to dine elsewhere as we understand disruptions happen in any business.
Possibly due to the pressure one of our meals was so bad it was sent back & the side of steamed vegetables was swimming in oil & was rejected also.
We watched another table of four simply walk out due to the lack of service.
The overworked table staff tried their best but there was no management support to be seen.
Sadly this was just an unfortunate situation that was not managed in anyway other than to let the staff "box on"
    Very poor management.

We met up with friends and shared a table together, some choosing the mains from the menu ,the rest going for starters and extra side dishes. Without exception the the food was superb and well presented and they called us when the service was ready,as we enjoyed drinks outside in the lovely gardens.A place I would recommend to all our family and friends for excellent service perhaps before a visit to Lamport Hall if you are so inclined.

The meal quality was excellent. We waited a little for the starter, but after that the rest came out Ok. It was a little noisy, mainly due to being under an air-conditioning unit.

Food was excellent. The carbonated drink was spoilt by way too much ice so lost its fizz. Then had to wait a long time for the bill.(again)

Food excellent. Initial service very good. Left for a long time waiting for bill, eventually went to bar to pay on way out. Overall experience good.

This is one of my favourite restaurants, I dine here around once a month and the location is perfect. The restaurant is always clean and the food is always delicious with lots to choose from. I never object to paying slightly more for good food. Unfortunately the only downside is one waitress, every time she has served me she has been extremely rude, she slams the food down, doesn't ask if we would like condements and when we ask for the bill it never appears and we have to go to the bar to pay. All other staff are lovely and friendly and kind, it's just a shame this one person ruins the evening every time and leaves a bad taste! Having been a waitress myself for many years I'm always polite and understanding when it comes to waitering staff and I would always ensure I leave a 10% tip but this one waitress stops me from doing that every time.
To sum up, great food, great location, fantastic setting and the majority of the staff are great, you just need to hope this one person isn't working!!
