In the picturesque village of Romsley, Halesowen, The Swallows Nest boasts well-loved British pub cuisine in a remote and tranquil destination, with fantastic country views. The rumoured ghost of an old landlady jealously guards the beautiful property and its ales. Your food can be enjoyed by the cosy log-fire, or in the garden, gifted with stunning views of Clent Hills and Waseley Hills.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Swallows Nest menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Swallows Nest ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

Deep in the West Midlands country, The Swallows Nest is 11 minutes’ driving to Hagley Train Station.

Start friendly and were able to answer all our questions without needing to ask anyone else. Food was well presented and tasty. Drinks were a little on the expensive side.

    Excellent food and service.
Was very busy but staff were very helpful and friendly.
Food was cooked to perfection and the Creme Brûlée is
    " orgasmic " apparently lol.

Unpleasant table opposite kitchen, doors constantly opening and closing and right near to a noisy bar. We asked to move but were told they were fully booked in a curt manner. But I had booked and got the worst table in a very nice restaurant. Bottle of wine was warm, had to add ice cubes from bucket to cool. Good food not the right birthday ambiance.

Lovely country feel to the place very cosy. However food was average and service wasn't very good. Had to get out of seat to ask for condiments which then arrived once I'd finished my food. Which the waitress then giggled at.

On the whole good. Staff helpful and courteous. Food cooked as expected.
Criticism: Sunday lunch roast menu says 'gravy in a jug' - it wasn't! The gravy was poured over the meat so those who would choose to have no gravy or to put it on the vegetables and not on the meat had no choice. I commented on this to waitress who offered to replace my meal - I didn't want food wasted so rejected the offer - but pointed out that the menu needed a reprint or customers should be told when ordering.
