We arrived a little before evening ordering time but we're made to feel welcome at the bar. My sea bass fillet was cooked beautifully. My hubby had the salmon and was equally delighted with his. Both meals were served attractively and were reminiscent of a modern restaurant presentation and yet were comfortably filling. The home made ice-cream is yum. There is a great selection of wines and a very well stocked bar. The pub itself is both rustic and modern with a lovely warmth of a fire to warm you on arrival.

I have visited The Stonemason's several times before concerts at the Apollo but always with daughters or girlfriends. Last night I took my husband who thoroughly enjoyed himself. We had a warm welcome but, because there had been a large lunchtime party, the manager thoughtfully sat us away from where they were clearing up. Unfortunately, as it was the end of, presumably a busy weekend, there were a couple of items no longer available but this didn't bother us. Our roast meals were very good and my beef was lovely and pink. At the end of the meal we were pleased by the gesture of not charging for our drinks. A pleasant meal and a happy husband who, uncharacteristically, asked me to make sure I wrote a good review for you.

Dreadful! Having received confirmation that I had a reservation the four of us turned up at the appointed time only to be told that we didn't have a reservation. Turns out the booking hadn't been received. They managed to find us a table. Others were coming in and their bookings hadn't come through. Obviously something broken between Bookatable and the restaurant. Chaos reigned. Waited 20mins to order a drink. Waited 10mins for it to come. Waited another 30mins for our order to be taken. On enquiring how long it would take for the food to arrive we were told 30mins or more. We decided there and then that this was ridiculous and we'd pay for the drinks and go elsewhere. Fair-dos as the waiter said we didn't have to pay for the drink. So I've no idea what the food was like - but the whole experience was dreadful.
