People had the pasta, the burgers, the fish (fried and grilled) as well as roasts. All of it was great. The service is really good. Friendly and attentive but not in your face all the time. Really first class pub.

With an emphasis on fresh, locally-sourced food, The Star pub in Highgate, London, offers quintessential British cuisine in a traditional, characterful setting. A stunning range of gourmet dishes are prepared daily on site, all of which can be enjoyed in the sun-trap patio area.

The Star restaurant prides itself on working with local suppliers, sourcing fish from Billingsgate, meats from Barrett’s of England’s Lane, and produce from Solstice Food in Covent Garden. All meals are prepared fresh based on seasonal produce available, ensuring diverse, quality dishes are served all year round.

Exposed brickwork and wooden furnishings create a rustic environment at The Star on Chester Road, where diners can indulge in bespoke courses like potato crusted chicken, iberico ham and avocado salad, or the divine lobster ravioli with asparagus and lobster bisque.

Over 58 great beers are available at The Star London, and the pub also features regular live music. All this is just a 12-minute walk from Archway Tube Station while Tufnell Park Tube Station is a 3-minute drive away.

Very friendly staff but a rather dark atmosphere - could do with a little more lighting.
Our dishes were tasty and very good value for money, although my bean stew was a little too salty for my taste

A relaxing atmosphere and a good, imaginative menu that caters well for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores. The ambience was lovely but the corner where we sat could have been a little warmer.

The pub is very cosy, our waiter was very friendly and the food was tasty. It was a bit quiet for a Thursday evening, but it has a nice feeling.

A very lovely pub serving great food by very helpful & friendly staff. Had dinner, choice of approx 6 starters & mains with a few desert and cheeseboard. Fish pie tasty, friend had duck which also great.mNice range of beers and wine list. Driven past here so many times and not gone in but will again. Upstairs is a room where they run a film club. As only 5 mins walk from the Heath, a great option for a post walk drink and food.

Good food and wine. Staff very friendly and helpful. We went for the live music and were not disappointed. Only complaint was that the room was cold where we were sitting.

The Star is an impressive local pub in N19. It serves consistently fresh, high quality pub food at very good value. The pub has a great ambience and always very good service. Its Sunday roasts are about as good as you can get anywhere. A gem.

They cancelled our booking less than two hours before we were due to arrive, saying they had a private party. test
