A cosy countryside pub boasting a huge beer garden that has a play area for children, The Star at Lingfield is set in the beautiful Surrey countryside, opposite an historic church. Crackling fires make for an inviting ambience, and there are weekly pub quizzes and popular Sunday roasts.

Local, seasonal ingredients go in to The Star at Lingfield menu, featuring British pub classics and flavours from around the world. There are sharing boards of treats like baked camembert infused with honey and rosemary, as well as a Spanish charcuterie board that includes crusty bread and dipping oils. Hearty favourites include Dublin pie with beef in a Guinness gravy, Gloucester Old Spot sausages and mash, and beer-battered cod. There are juicy steaks from the grill, as well as a burger selection.

Cask ales and international beers are served at The Star at Lingfield, as well as an ample wine selection. For pudding, there is apple, peach and raspberry crumble with warm custard, and pistachio pavlova with fresh mango.

Also serving a selection of gluten-free dishes, The Star at Lingfield is filled with rustic rural charm, and sits 7 minutes' walk from Lingfield Rail Station.

Lovely and another different veggie dish - good service too.

The service was attentive, however the main meal experience left a lot to be desired. Three people ordered the battered cod. One was so over cooked it was inedible, the other two were undercooked and the batter raw. We did bring our finding to the waitress who then saw the manager. The outcome was that we were offered a complimentary desert - not really an answer. We did not have a desert but we did receive complimentary coffees. Not impressed with the outcome.

Lovely place, it has character but is also modern at the same time. Friendly staff, good food and nice choice of wine list. At Christmas time the star is pretty warm and inviting.

Good atmosphere, good food, well presented and excellent service. Set menu was very reasonable at £12.50 for 2 courses and contained a good choice of dishes. However, the normal a la carte prices were pretty much average should you wish to choose other dishes.

Great menu, had pork belly,so delicious,I have a good appetite but couldn't manage a pudding.i stayed here with 3 of my golfing mates.
We would normally stay at the Lingfield Marriott but decided to stay at the Star because we ate here this time last year and found it to be so much more friendly & accomodating with a great atmosphere.
I must say that we had the most fantastic waitress (Megan) she was so friendly, efficient and always smiling, nothing was too much trouble.
    Will be back soon.
