We four girlfriends had a lovely evening here in this beautifully renovated gastro pub by the river. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, mine was delicious, and the atmosphere on a Thursday evening was buzzy and fun. The service was good, the location excellent.

Nestled on the riverbank, The Flying Horse is a cosy gastro pub with an outdoor dining area and a menu featuring modern British fare with a hint of Mediterranean influence. A refurbished country-style pub with wicker seats, cushioned sofas, and a large bar with an open log fire, it enjoys picturesque riverside views.

With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, St George & Dragon restaurant menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest seasonal ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include Mediterranean mezze, seared chicken breast with sweet potato rosti & buttered British beans, and spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.

The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The St George & Dragon bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and eclectic sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.

Nice and friendly athmosphere...not that nice the linguine with lobstar..the pasta was overcooked and the chilly was way too overpoweing to the point i could not taste either the lobstar or the crab.... for the rest the evening was fine.

Very nice atmosphere unfortunately for a busy place nothing really for GF so my wife's roast was very dry with no GF gravey and pudding was not available we know it's not always easy but this day and age it is possible

We went for Mother's Day lunch at 3pm so expected it to be busy. Overall we enjoyed our meal. The scallops starter was very nice as were both the Pork and Lamb roast mains. Our only disappointment with the food was the roast potatoes which clearly had not been turned so were crispy brown on one side and white on the other.
The frozen yoghurt with strawberries desert was excellent, however the two glasses of champagne we ordered to go with it never came in time so we cancelled them.
We have been here a number of times before and always enjoy the food, the super river view and the Terrace when it's warm enough. Bearing in mind how busy it was on this occasion the service was not bad - apart from the non arrival of drinks with our desert.
