The venue is very cosy & welcoming.

Throughly impressed with the whole menu, especially the beef brisket.

On the site of the original Sandeman Port and Sherry Cellars, Don Bistro and Bar offers British cuisine with a nod to Spanish and Portuguese heritage. The Don Bar and Bistro complements the more formal Don Restaurant next door and is a sibling of the famed Bleeding Restaurant, Bistro and Tavern in Farringdon.

Take a seat in the atmospheric dining room and enjoy a selection of European bistro dishes, followed by a sweet treat from the dessert menu or a selection of 5 farmhouse cheeses.

The décor emphasises The Don's Iberian heritage, with specially commissioned pieces including a cork bar, reclaimed port-barrel banquettes, and a 3-metre corkscrew carved from metal.

The Don Bistro and Bar in The City is a 2-minute walk from Bank Tube Station.

We had a great meal at The Sign of the Don. The special offer was really good value - a glass of champagne and then three courses for £25. We all enjoyed our food a lot - portions were really good and everything was cooked well. And the service was very good too - attentive without being overbearing. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent evening. Food delicious. Attentive staff. Good value.

Food and service quite poor unfortunately as reflected in the overall reviews. Food came out either boiling or lukewarm. Salmon salad starter was dreadful and pretty sure the main of beef brisket gave us the runs. Service started off well but derioreated - orders getting mixed up despite there only being one other small group dining. 50 percent off bottles of wine on a Friday softened the blow somewhat

The food and ambience were great, but sadly when the bill arrived we found we had been overcharged. This was resolved after some waiting, but it spoiled the evening to some extent.

Friendly staff, good atmosphere and the food was very nice. We sampled the three course set menu so also good value.

Enjoyable experience in a very pleasant atmosphere, very busy and not enough staff on for the amount of diners.

    Disappointing.

I'd booked the 2 courses for £17.50 offer but was given the standard menu. I had to ask for the offer menu. The offer menu was very limited so I ordered from the main menu anyway.

The food was average but expensive.

The staff were quite helpful and friendly, a little clumsy, and later in the evening anxious to close the restaurant when there were only a couple of tables left. One lady got the hoover out; a chap was in the ladies bathroom cleaning the mirrors; and we were told it was last orders if we wanted anymore drinks (I've never known this in a restaurant before).

The lighting in the downstairs area where I was seated was quite harsh and bright, which I don't like.

The location is very good for Cannon Street station, but I won't be going again.
