We love the shireburn arms and have done ever since we got married there in 2014, last night was lacking something.
Food and service were just ok, nothing special or memorable, the menu also lacks creativity.
The pub was very quiet, staff were disctracted by a table which contained their friends, we waited ages for someone to take our order, no offer of a 2nd drink, water for the table forgotten by our server, only 1 coffee brought out when we ordered 2.
Will we be back? After last night, probably not, other pubs and restaurants in the area have upped their game and I felt last night the shireburn had fell behind.

The Shireburn is a great Sunday lunch venue and we visit several times a year.

It was lovely, the food was amazing, I had beef and mushroom pie, very tasty, my husband had roast beef, very tasty aswell. Then we had dessert, pavlova which was lovely and my husband had crumble, lovely and heartwarming food! Very attentive staff, the price was good aswell. We will definitely be going again.

Four of us enjoyed a fabulous Sunday lunch at the Shireburn Arms yesterday. This was my second visit but it will not be the last. The whole experience was outstanding. The service is attentive without being intrusive and the bar/dining area has an old world charm all of its own. All agreed that the food was of the highest standard. The hardest part is choosing from the extensive men. My own favourites were the home-made pate starter and the chocolate brownie dessert but I also found myself looking enviously at the dishes that were chosen by my fellow diners and other guests. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

Lovely welcome, the bar and serving staff were a real credit to them. The food was fantastic, so hot and fresh it could melt your fork. As delicious as any I've had in the likes of The Inn at Whitewell and much better value. You can tell the chef is really passionate. The food is a mixture of the creative aswell and their own slant at the classics. We had six different dishes between us and all were to die for. Can't wait to come again.

P.s. The jazz night was a real bonus. We'll be back for that too.
