Waiter very attentive, food and wine very good. I liked the eclectic toys on display and rustic environment.

Housed within a quirky restored barn, The Sheppey Inn is a contemporary country pub near Wells. Just 5 minutes from Glastonbury, The Sheppey pulls in a diverse crowd with live music from a range of eclectic artists.

The Sheppey Inn menu features modern European offerings such as Somerset lamb carpaccio with beetroot and minted Greek yoghurt dressing, while a Spanish charcoal oven produces tender smoky barbecue chicken and roasted Somerset pork belly. Far eastern influences run through the ‘Asian fish and chips’ with chilli-battered haddock, triple-cooked chips, wasabi peas and Asian slaw, and a duo of duck with pak choi, chilli, chorizo and baby new potatoes.

High-vaulted barn ceilings in the The Sheppey Inn in Somerset are peppered with skylights, and a latticed outdoor terrace area looks down the tranquil River Sheppey. Craft beer nights feature alongside live music, which ranges from blues to an innovative chilled dub folk.

In a tranquil spot in Lower Godney, The Sheppey Inn is 6 miles from the centre of Wells.

Loved it in here! Our food was delicious once we got it (table next to us ordered the same meal and were given ours by mistake) but we had a free drink to appologise which was great. Excellent cider choices and fab cocktails. Also liked the outdoor/smoking area overlooking the river would love to go back in the summer! Highly recommend to everyone!!

We came back here after stumbling upon the pub a year ago and having a fantastic night, there was music, great atmosphere and the BEST BURGER IN THE WORLD!! We even sought out the chef to congratulate him afterwards. So we were excited to come back this year. Still great atmosphere, lovely staff and a warm relaxed feeling to the place...somewhere you don't expect to get fine dining which is really nice as you usually have to put up with a stuffy atmosphere anywhere you go that serves food this good. This place feels like a well kept secret. This time the star of the show was the mushroom croquettes starter, so beautifully plated and divine gooeyness and crunchiness with every feels like being a Masterchef judge ;-) Whoever the chef is they are creative genius with a real love for what they do and I'm very thankful to them for keeping this kind of food accessible to those who can't afford Michelin dining (although they deserve the accolade). Definitely be back.

This quintessentially quirky pub somewhere deep in the Somerset levels has the best infused gin options, food was excellent. The best steak me and my husband have had for a long time.
Great atmosphere and the waiting staff couldn't do more.
A bit loud with big groups due to xmas/party bookings around us but that didn't ruin the experience. This was our 2nd time there and we will be returning.
