The Rosebery Lounge at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is an exquisite setting for extravagant afternoon tea. The indulgent but traditional menu is served amidst opulent chandeliers and fine artwork.

The Rosebery Lounge afternoon tea begins with luxurious sandwiches including St. Tola goat cheese with roasted pumpkin and red onion, confit Portland crab and crayfish fondue on lemon and thyme bread, and Wiltshire cured ham and heritage tomatoes. This is followed by freshly baked scones served with homemade jam, rose petal jelly, or lemon curd, and a selection of handmade pastries. Indulge in orange and almond cake and spiced apple cake with cardamom cream

The vast selection of teas at The Rosebery Lounge in London includes breakfast, afternoon and Directors Reserve blends that have been exclusively crafted to Mandarin Oriental's specifications. Also on offer are rare teas from around the world, and a selection of bespoke teas created in conjunction with the East India Company. For extra indulgence, add champagne, sake, or a glamorous cocktail.

In well-heeled Knightsbridge, and overlooking Hyde Park, The Rosebery Lounge at Mandarin Oriental Hotel is a 2-minute walk from Knightsbridge Tube Station.

The sandwiches were excellent, they included traditional filling, but with a subtle, festive twist to make you think 'Ooh, nice', the pastry selection was also exceptional and the scones too ! But the highlight was the tea selection, with everything from Jasmine Pearls to posh Swiss hot chocolate, all with unlimited refills (you can change beverage each time too). The service was originally slow, but the efficient Maitre De quickly rallied her troops and made our afternoon tea one to remember.

The Rosebery was unavailable due to the refurb so we had tea in the Loggia which wasn't as pretty or luxurious, but it was still ok and at least was very intimate. Amazing service. Complimentary top up of sandwiches. Able to switch teas in between and they even brought us extra gingerbread cookies when we said we loved them. We also fortunately were not rushed but left to enjoy and relax. Waiter offered to stagger our order so we could enjoy our champagne first and the scones were brought out last so we could enjoy them fresh and warm. We'd love to come back especially when the Rosebery is ready.

The experience was lovely. Cosy room overlooking Hyde Park, attentive, but not overly, prompt delivery of food. The Pooh bear tea for the children came with colouring which they loved.
The food, however, was not so great. The sandwiches were ok and the scones were yummy but the clotted cream was solid and unspreadable and the pastries were just sickly with very little flavour. Wouldn't go back at those prices.

Second visit, still perfect!! The festive afternoon tea menu was outstanding - sandwiches were incredible (turkey, sage stuffing, cranberry was the best!), scones warm and delicious and sweets perfect. Service was impeccable and friendly, and the tea selection was great. Definitely booking for a 3rd time soon..

It was great- tea came a bit late but the service was good. Sandwiches, cakes and scones were fantastic, only low point was the pastries.

Tables are a bit too close to each other and I would prefer a bigger room. But all in all, it was a good experience.

Before choosing to book afternoon tea at the Roseberry, my friend and myself researched the venue online. We look at a handful of reviews and photographs of the venue, room and the food of course!

Once we arrived at the hotel, we were surprised at how old the interior of the main reception looked. No-one greeted us and we had to find our own way to the Roseberry Room. Upon finding the room, we were promptly sat at a table and was explained to how the menu worked. How we could have as many sandwiches and scones as we liked and endless pots of tea.

However, during our 2 hours that we were there, we were probably served by over 8 different members of staff. Each and every member of staff was particularly helpful and friendly, but you really had to catch their attention. We were left for long periods in between where we would have ordered more tea.

It actually got to the point where I had to put my hand up (like in school) to get someones' attention. It was as if we had been forgotten about.

Saying that, the food was nice and the tea was gorgeous (even if they never did bring up the milk that I requested to be on the side!!)

Very pricey for what you get, we opted for the normal afternoon tea without cocktails and with service charge it was £60 pp. I've had afternoon tea at the Ritz for less than this and if I had to choose, I would most certainly choose the Ritz afternoon tea over this one.

The room also didn't have views of Hyde Park, which it advertises, very disappointing. I could see Knightsbridge tube station and that was all.
