Perfect afternoon tea. The service is impeccable, friendly and discreet. The quality of the food and teas is just perfect.
It would be great to have also brown bread sandwiches as a choice.

Plump, plush sofas in warm pink denote The Rose Lounge’s unmistakable feminine style, while the French influence is apparent in the delicate tapestries lining the room. A fine range of teas pour from fine china pots, complementing delightful Parisienne pastries.

Tempting cakes and dainty cut sandwiches hallmark the suitably elegant Rose Lounge menu. Fresh fragrant roses and the subtle strains of a harp among its sensory signatures, The Rose Lounge in London offers an intimate atmosphere to enjoy this most civilised of British traditions.

Afternoon Tea at The Rose Lounge oozes the sophistication of one of the capital’s most prestigious addresses. A short stroll from Trafalgar Square and Bond Street, The Rose Lounge at Sofitel London St James is a 2-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus Tube Station.

Excellent afternoon tea with a twist in a beautiful room. Warmly welcomed by the team there - who congratulated us on using afternoontea.com . We were offered endless top ups of tea and food and enjoyed the French patisseries which rounded off the very traditional sandwiches and scones! Couldn't fault anything!

We absolutely loved it! Great food, warm cosy atmosphere and excellent service. The (half price) children's tea, served in an artists paint box is a good option too! Would definitely recommend.

The food here is lovely and so is the setting. The waitress was very polite and helpful changing my tea when Indidn't like the first choice. We were offered extra sandwiches too.
Unfortunately as we were on the last sitting all the waiters/waitresses suddenly disappeared at 6 and we were left waiting for the pastries for about half an hour. Eventually a waiter turned up and we asked for them. We were told the staff leave at 6 and it changes the different staff. I would therefore suggest not starting your tea st 5 like we did but earlier.

The lounge area is pleasant and comfortable. The service was good and the champagne was lovely and certainly free flowing, however the afternoon tea itself wasn't great , a bit of a sparse savoury selection ( just 3 small sandwich fingers each) the scones were a bit dry and hard , but the French pastries were nice ( 2 each) .

Such a huge disappointment. The sandwiches were dry, scones were cold and hard and the service very poor.

The service was very average and very slow. The waiter was polite and courteous but he was alone for the whole room and couldn't cope with the workload, therefore, customer service and 5* service (attention to details) was severely lacking.

Disappointing visit. No-one to greet us on arrival, despite the fact that we had booked and they were aware of our arrival time. Some of the bread on the sandwiches was dry and all of my (non meat and fish) sandwiches were on plain white bread, rather than the delicious flavoured bread usually on offer. Also, no fresh tea was offered, but rather hot water to add to existing leaves, which just isn't the same. On the plus side, the waitress was friendly and the champagne cocktail, scones and desserts were lovely.
