Boasting stunning Harbourside view, The River Grille features some of the best produce in the South West and ingredients that speak for themselves. With a sleek lounge bar, The River Grille is also home to a pianist on Friday evenings and Sunday lunch times, and a Jazz band on Saturday evenings.

Head Chef Matt Lord writes the a la carte menu together with a numbers of daily specials which features many local dishes and some beautifully prepared fish dishes. The beef is 28-day dry aged West Country beef and is cooked on a Josper charcoal grill. Favourites from the grill include a West Country 8oz sticky Bourbon & brown sugar rib eye steak, a 12oz pork “T bone” with crackling, and a 10oz Barnsley chop with coriander, cumin and orange. The decadent desserts include a blood orange panna cotta with dark chocolate spring rolls and roasted fig, or a custard tart with gingerbread ice cream and raisin puree – of course the ice cream is home made. For cheese lovers, there is a plate of West Country cheese with a Bramley apple chutney. In addition, there is a pre theatre/early dining menu available each evening, and express lunches from Monday to Friday with a “build a board” concept. On Sundays, a traditional carvery is available.

The light and airy dining area has striking light features and mahogany furniture, with large windows that allow diners to look out over the water. The River Grille Bar is complete with a glossy finish and quirky white grand piano.

At the Centre of the city, the River Grille Restaurant is a 10 minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads station and right on the Narrow Quay Harbourside.

Nice cocktails. Nice starters. The steak was terrible, tough as old boots and over cooked. Nobody checked how my meal was until the end. Offered another steak but I fortunately had no time. They did knock £10 off my and my partners meal but they should have knocked my entire main off. I essentially paid £10 for some chips.

Nice waitress who tried her best but no sign of the manager apart from lurking in the background.

Lovely setting and polite staff. They forgot the olives but gave us complimentary bread when ny fiancee didnt like the duck egg starter....seemed undercooked and runny. However for me the scallops and rack of nailsea lamb was absolutely delicious! Good wine, had a musician playing lovely piano music...overall a great evening and meal.
