We had a really good meal, there was a good choice of dishes and I loved the slow cooked veal. The surroundings were very sumptuous and the staff attentive and friendly.

Spectacular dining room, but the food and service were disappointing.
We had a booking for 1.30 PM, arrived early and were taken to our table. Some dry tasteless toasts were waiting for us. It took a very long time for our order to be taken and even longer to be served.
The Amuse Bouche was fantastic, we drank the champagne and waited for our meal. Bread was served with butter, took far too long and was mediocre, we were never offered additional bread.
First course was good, I had yellowfin tuna - very small portion, my wife had hen's egg - excellent.
Again, we waited almost half an hour for our man course and had to ask the waiter to find out what was happening. My main course was duck , OK but not exciting, my wife had halibut, nice piece but overlooked and tasteless. She has only a drop of source and had to ask the waiter for more.
Deserts were OK, each of us had a small glass of white wine. The bill was £150. Not worth it

We have eaten at the Ritz Restaurant many times and always enjoyed the food and our experience there. This time visited to redeem Time Out Vouchers which included three courses and a glass of champagne. As it was a voucher deal, we were restricted to dine between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Service was thus hurried. No sooner had we finished our starters, then our mains were served. This was less then half an hour after the order had been placed! We did not find the service as attentive and had to ask for more bread. I felt like we weren't important enough or worthy of attention due to dining on a meal voucher. Whilst some of the waiters were friendly and kind, others were curt, terse and dour faced. We were advised that we had to finish our meal before the band started. The food however was excellent and we were not disappointed by the portions or the flavours. Somehow, I did not feel the friendly vibe we have felt in the past and if the Ritz wishes to retain their 1 Michelin star then they will have to up their game in this regard. Even the hostess was indifferent.

It's a great place. Only be careful when ordering wine - it is very expensive

Absolutely lovely. Surprise cake received for daughters graduation which was beautiful. All food was excellent . Service was fantastic too. Only slight downside was that I asked for peppermint tea and received Morrocan Mint which was so weak it had no flavour. A replacement teapot was brought with extra mint. I would suggest if peppermint is requested that the type of mint is stated- as it happens I do not like Morrocan mint.
