The food was amazing, it's a shame that the service didn't match.
We had to ask for drinks menus, then ask to order a drink.
They forgot our side of veg and I had to ask for it, there was then no check back at all. We ordered coffee and was bought the bill at the same time without asking for it making us feel like we were being pushed out. When I asked if it was OK to order dessert the restaurant manager was quite abrupt and told me a waitress would be with me soon. It's just a shame they were not very attentive as the food looked and tasted amazing.

The service, food and wine were all excellent and we had a very enjoyable evening with our son and his partner. We went for the Taster Menu and the scallops were just perfect. The venison was also delicious and beautifully presented, however just a few extra vegetables would have been welcome. Would definitely go again.

We had an excellent set lunch in a beautiful setting overlooking the garden. The menu was limited but we all felt that we could have enjoyed every single item. The service was attentive but we never felt hassled. At £15 for 2 courses or £22 for 3 courses, this is a really good deal and I can recommend the Charlton House lunches wholeheartedly. Thank you for a very happy occasion.

Food was excellent but service awfull second course delivered before first and accompanying wines did not arrive but drinks not charged for in compensation

It was St. Valentine's Day and we opted for the tasting menu with accompanying wines for each of the five courses. It was quite busy but the staff did an excellent job and kept things moving throughout the evening. Wild mushroom ravioli with a truffle foam was the centrepiece preceded by a pea bavarois with potato foam and then I had scallops and my wife chose the goat's curd. There was a trio of mini desserts and a cheeseboard to end up. Most enjoyable. The Sunday Lunch at the restaurant is highly recommended too!

Food was very nice, can't fault it. Compliments to the chef.
My husband was looking forward to a Hoegaarden as we can't buy it locally only to be told they had run out.
The service was extremely slow and we weren't offered any bread before starters despite others receiving some.
The staff were very pleasant and friendly but it was quite obvious they were short staffed. A nice experience but certainly not worth the £120 bill

Not bad - they could do with a bit more variation on the side dishes - if you want chips or sweet potato chips fine - but that's all for potatoes - bit boring! Cold in conservatory part of restaurant so bring a wrap ladies - you'll need one. Overall ok and will try again

The front of house guy" Julian" was excellent, funny, great with our usually grumpy teenager and really looked after us, having us all laughing.
Really liked relaxed area by the fire in the lounge to look at menus.
All the waiting staff were interactive and made a great effort to please.
On the whole our food was great, except the steak my husband had which for the price was tough and not so tasty,
There was a good atmosphere, although the music was a little on the loud side, but better than no music at all which happens in some restaurants
Despite living locally, it was our first visit to the restaurant, we have been put off in he past by the over fancy food on the menu, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the menu had plenty of choice to suit us all which I guess is a recent change.
We will definitely be back and are already planning to come again soon , as I am a member , the discount was also an asset!
