Offering a trendy take on Greek ‘street food’ The Real Greek Covent Garden is surrounded by the arty bustle of Theatreland. In the light-filled dining room, glossy communal benches and drop-bulb lighting evoke a cool, underground vibe.

Showcasing robust flavours, The Real Greek menu presents an array of wholesome specialities. Ideal for sharing, tasty hot and cold mezes sit alongside souvlaki served straight from the grill. Favourites from the wide selection include juicy tiger prawns with chilli and garlic butter, or handmade British lamb patties with tahini sauce.

Extending tradition through to the dessert menu, The Real Greek restaurant offers a tantalisingly sweet selection, from Greek lemon cake drizzled with honey-infused syrup, to luxurious homemade baklava. Family-friendly The Real Greek London offers a fun meze and skewer selection, just for kids.

Perched next to the hub of the market square, The Real Greek is a 4-minute walk from Covent Garden Tube Station.

Very busy in a relatively small space, however the staff were very friendly and attentive when required, the food was of very good quality and well presented. A small negative was when we ordered cold mezes the server didn't suggest adding flat or pitta bread to our order until after they had arrived.

I booked a table for 6 for a university reunion which we had been looking forward to for months, when we arrived there was no table, I was greeted by a waited who told me he was sorry but there was nothing he could do! Who was pretty rude if I'm honest. I was disgusted, we were eventually told we could have a table, we all watched in embarrassment whilst a couple were moved from one of the tables so the could move two small tables together and we're told our table was ready, by this time we were all hungry and probably wouldn't get in anywhere else being Christmas time, so we ended up sitting on a table for 4 where our food could barely fit on! We were offered a free bottle of wine to apologise, which was pretty disappointing considering the disaster that was the evening, we all left very disappointed.

organised a party of 7 to eat here, service was ok, food good, toilet area dreadful and smelt - very messy
I know its a busy time of the year but seriously embarrassed to have recommended this to a party of friends

Excellent as usual. What I like is that staff are around to help but not constantly asking if everything is ok.
The prawn dishes are really good.

Lovely food, especially the lamb pies! All cooked and presented spot on! Nice surroundings and excellent waiter service. Have been before and will go again!

Food good, service less so. Lovely atmosphere.

Friendly staff, tasty food. We enjoyed a sharing plate, which cost £36 for 2 people; great variety very good portions. We visited on a Saturday evening at 7.00pm and it was fully booked, customers were being turned away. I wouldn't recommend for a romantic evening as the tables are placed very closely together.
