Excellent breakfast, we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Such a lovely restaurant a little gem ! Just like to say the staff and service was also brilliant.

Once a Tudor yeoman’s house, The Quills in Rochester is now a popular restaurant, serving crowd-pleasing British cuisine. Sit in the beamed dining room surrounded by antique oak doors that the owners rescued from Rochester Cathedral when it was refurbished.

Blending familiar ingredients with special touches, all brought together in a rustic style, The Quills menu includes the likes maple-glazed pork ribs or Mexican spicy bean and avocado for breakfast, or a burger topped with BBQ beef brisket and a side of truffled mac & cheese. Chocolate brownie layered with cherry pie filling is amongst the enticing desserts.

Brimming with history, find The Quills a 10-minute walk from Rochester Train Station.

I booked this online on a bit of a whim as we were visiting the Christmas Market and I thought it would be very busy. The waitress was very friendly and the food arrived quickly. The restaurant itself is well decorated and welcoming but it was quite cold. The food was acceptable but not as high quality as the website suggests. The laminated menus are a bit unprofessional. My daughter really enjoyed her Freakshake and the coffee was great. I give it a try for breakfast next time maybe but would probably not have dinner.

Food and service were both excellent. Celebrated hobbies 60th birthday and the staff looked after us very well.

Came for dinner. I understand they have recently only started offering this and as such there were few slight teething problems (like the fact that they didn't quite know which beers they had available)... which i assume will improve simply with time... but that aside, the food was very tasty, not over pretentious, the price represented good value for money and the service was excellent.

Overall a very enjoyable experience - if you want a tasty, simple, clean not over complicated dinner in a central location in rochester - i would strongly recommend Quills. I certainly intend to visit again in the future.

Had a great brunch here!! I did book a table but we turned up late. However, they were very accommodating and managed to seat us even though it was very busy on a Sunday morning. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was delish! Would definitely recommend for a brunch or lunch.

Great breakfasts and milkshakes. Staff were very friendly and helpful and even provided a food item for our young granddaughter that wasn't on the menu.

A very nice cafe/restaurant. Very relaxed atmosphere and a good varied menu. Attentive staff without being overly so.

Lovely food and great customer service. Surprised it wasn't busier for a Saturday night! Definitely recommend a meal here, despite lack of many diners there was a good atmosphere and the building is very quaint! Look forward to a second visit!

This was our first time at The Quills and we loved it. The food was imaginative and tasty and service was excellent. It's great to see a new evening dining offer on Rochester High Street and one that sets out to be a little bit different.
