An elegant seaside retreat just a stone's throw from Damien Hirst's 66-foot Verity statue, The Quay Restaurant offers elegant British and European cuisine. Via ornate French doors, enjoy views onto Ilfracombe harbour and beyond.

Making use of the local area’s bountiful produce, favourites from the diverse Quay Restaurant menu might include pasta with homemade pesto, a succulent steak with hand-cut chips, or when in season, a whole lobster in garlic and herb butter. Indulge your sweet tooth with bread and butter pudding with custard, or decadent chocolate fondant. There are also inviting vegetarian options and a children’s menu.

Owned by controversial British artist Damien Hirst, artwork from the man himself decorates the interior of this masterfully restored Victorian Inn. Guests at The Quay restaurant can choose from 2 dining rooms, one of which – The Atlantic Room – is fashioned to resemble an upturned boat, and includes an aquarium, as well as views out onto the Atlantic Ocean.

An idyllic seaside retreat, diners can enjoy drinks and nibbles in The Quay bar throughout the day. Ilfracombe town centre is a 5-minute drive away.

Pleasant service, good selection on menu and wine list. prices not unreasonable. only onre tiny drawback but rectifyable, the white wine was served at room temp; but a quickly provided ice bucket and a little time resolved the issue.

Once again the meal at the Quay was superb, from being met in the bar with pre-dinner drinks to being escorted upstairs to the main restaurant the staff were attentive and extremely professional. Service was quick and the menu was so tempting it was a real treat as always. This restaurant is without doubt one of the best in North Devon for food, service and atmosphere. Excellent night and will as usual be returning again to this superb restaurant. Can't wait until the lighter evenings to see the great view from the beautiful bay window. Well done the Quay another superb meal.

This is our second visit to The Quay. The food, service and atmosphere were wonderful. The children were made to feel welcome, too. Our waitress, Rachel, was helpful and friendly. When we return to Devon next year, we will most definitely be going back to The Quay.

all three of us had a fantastic meal, the service was very attentive without being over bearing. The party next to us were exceptionally loud so we retreated to the downstairs for coffee. The manageress realised why we had moved, apologised for the noise and offered a free round of drinks - I wouldn't accept because it wasn't the restaurants fault. We settled on free coffees. I was impressed with the offer and recognition of the situation.

Quite outstanding - the whole experience from ease of booking, welcome on arrival, service and, of course, the food was excellent.

We have reccomended in the past and will continue to do so.
