Synonymous with luxury and grandeur, The Dorchester hotel on Park Lane presents elegant British brasserie cuisine at The Promenade. The dining room features lavish interior design from Thierry Despont, and an oval leather-clad bar.

A polished, tranquil retreat in which to enjoy the hotel’s legendary afternoon teas, The Promenade in London showcases 25 different tea blends, alongside its impeccable range of sweet and savoury treats. As well as cakes from the in-house bakery, enjoy the signature Dorchester scones- made to a recipe unchanged for 50 years.

An all-day menu at The Promenade is filled with refined Dorchester classics, as well as extravagantly-topped pizzas, and delicious meats from the grill. For an indulgent start to the day, The Promenade in Mayfair also offers an exciting international range for breakfast.

Set on one of London’s most famous streets, The Promenade on Park Lane is just 6 minutes’ walk from Hyde Park Corner Tube Station. Please note, all guests are respectfully asked to observe The Dorchester’s ‘smart casual’ dress code, by refraining from wearing baseball or beanie caps, ripped jeans, sportswear (including flip-flops) and shorts while visiting the restaurants and bars.

Afternoon Tea ta the Dorchester has a nice sound to it and it doesn't disappoint. It's such a wonderful, opulent room that you immediately feel like you are somewhere special, helped by the warm welcome that awaits you at the door and at the restaurant desk. This is a classic afternoon tea, low tables and big, lazy chairs make for a relaxing space to pass the time away whilst indulging in some wonderful tea options (Although slightly disappointed that the Dalreoch teas were not available), the Russian Country being a top pick for us on the day. As avid Afternoon tea'ers, we are always looking for innovation on sandwiches, let's face it, it's hard to do but they succeed here with using flavoured breads to compliment the ingredients used in the filling. Using a Basil Bread with a Roast Chicken and Pommery Mustard filling is a prime example, wonderful flavour balance. And then the all important Scones. Quite simply, the Best Scones I can recall anywhere, I've had so many dry scones in my life but here they manage to get the right balance with a hint of chewiness to them. Great consistency backed up with some more innovation on the jam, Pear and something that I can't recall the name of but beautifully balanced. The Strawberry Jam was also delicious if a little runny which made it a little messy to deal with backed up here by clotted cream that probably should have been left out at room temperature for a little longer to make it easier to spread.
The service was also attentive without being in your face, allowing us to have a very relaxed experience. It's definitely an experience I would recommend, especially if you are afternoon tea buff. Thank you for getting our afternoon off to a great start.

Overall a lovely afternoon with my mum. The table was 5 mins late being ready for us so we were given a complimentary glass of champagne to compensate. When they heard it was mum's birthday they provided her with a slice of birthday cake. There was an abundance of delicate and beautiful cakes, scones, sandwiches. Service from George was perfect.

it was my 4th time at Promenade and by far the worse. The quality of service fell dramatically. we had to constantly chase our waiter for sandwiches, for warmer tea, for napkins, etc. He was using the same chatting story that he always use which by now already sounds old and boring. we changed table and our new waiter was not much better. Overall they seem to be extremely tired and had enough of the job. I would suggest to either increase the number of waiters or to decrease the number of bookings.
