Constructed in 1822, The Priory near Bristol has always concerned itself with serving great traditional meals, since it was formerly a hotel. With a classic whitewashed exterior and large Victorian windows, The Priory boasts an enticing log-fire and an al fresco beer garden. It is furnished with rustic beams and an ornate mantelpiece, aiding its rural character.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Priory menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Priory ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
Located in the country, but only a few miles from the sea, The Priory Portbury is a country haven, just 18 minutes’ driving into Bristol.

The evening started with being taken to our table and told a waiter would take our orders for drinks and food so we could sit back and relax. The waiter Taylor came and introduced himself and took our orders and ensured good service long with another young waiter, the menu was very good giving a variety of choices for each course. Our party of four had 3 course each and all were very good, I had the Sea Bass which was excellent and the Steak was also very good.

Enjoyable Sunday lunch, but the pork was more like gammon which it did say on the menu, but we would have preferred proper roast pork!

Delicious food at very reasonable prices. Relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. We have eaten at The Priory many times and it has had its good and bad times in the past, but at the moment it is definitely at its best.
