Constructed in 1822, The Priory near Bristol has always concerned itself with serving great traditional meals, since it was formerly a hotel. With a classic whitewashed exterior and large Victorian windows, The Priory boasts an enticing log-fire and an al fresco beer garden. It is furnished with rustic beams and an ornate mantelpiece, aiding its rural character.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Priory menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Priory ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

Located in the country, but only a few miles from the sea, The Priory Portbury is a country haven, just 18 minutes’ driving into Bristol.

Excellent service, great food, lovely atmosphere. I go once a month to meet friends which I have been doing for a number of years, wouldn't go anywhere else.

Food was very good. The portion sizes were a pleasant surprise and excellent value for money. For pudding we opted for the mini pud and drink option which was just as well and we were both full with these, If I have a complaint it is a common one I have found in restaurants, and that is with pate the quantity of bread is always a little small. Otherwise the meal was first class.

The service was also very good, Steve who served us let us think about our choices without putting pressure on us whilst not making us wait for service.

Too long a wait for the food and drinks. Even a bottle of water took 20 mins to arrive! And the soup took over half an hour.
