Overseen by twin brothers Alex and Oliver Burnside, The Plough & Sail offers a modern British menu with eclectic world influences. This sensitively restored, country farmhouse-style hideaway features a spacious restaurant and cosy bar.

A tempting range of menus at The Plough & Sail feature dishes from local suppliers, while cellar is stocked full with world wines and ales from local breweries. Highlights include oysters with shallot vinegar, seasonal fish pie served with a local mixed leaf salad, and duck breast with fondant potato, braised red cabbage, plum tartlet & jus.

The tempting dessert menu features classic creme brulee with a ginger flapjack & poached apricots. In summer, the courtyard at the back is the perfect place to spend a lazy Sunday.

The Plough & Sail in Suffolk is a 10-minute drive from Wickham Market Rail Station.

We visit the Plough & Sail every time we visit Snape Maltings - it's always super-friendly, reliable and cosy (and dog friendly in the pub side too!). There's a great selection of food to choose from (although more veggie options would always be nice) and the service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

A really lovely evening. A nice room - plenty of space between tables. The waitresses were pleasant and efficient. Wine and food were all delicious. Lots of choice. We had a very enjoyable evening. Will definitely return and highly recommend

Was hoping for my favorite Dover Sole but not on the menu. The choice was a little disappointing but what we had was very well cooked

We have eaten at the Plough & Sail several times over the past couple of months, prior to attending concerts at Aldeburgh Music's Snape Maltings Concert Hall. The restaurant staff are always friendly & efficient & were especially so during the busy pre-concert rush. The food is freshly cooked from quality local ingredients (gorgeous pork belly & super fresh beautifully cooked skate), absolutely delicious & superb value for money. We can thoroughly recommend & will be returning!

Came here with a friend prior to a concert. Thriving and busy with multiple staff racing around to make sure diners were out in time. We booked into restaurant and were surprised at how great the food was - all dishes were just lush! My husband and I recently moved from working in London living in Essex and this food was better. So good, three of us went a few days later. Level of service was excellent, really pleasant friendly staff who work as a team. We chose different food from menu and still great. It is a half hour drive for us but so good we will use more often. Well done to all who work there for making our evenings really enjoyable. I give chef 10/10.
