Described as a ‘hidden gem’ by The Independent, and winner of 'Best Bar & Pub' at Time Out's Love London Awards 2015, The Phoenix Theatre is tucked away down the same side street used in the opening sequence of Harry Potter. The lively bar and restaurant is found in the original dressing rooms and rehearsal rooms of The Phoenix, and serves up seasonal British dishes.

Head chef Robert Kusy makes his West End debut following appearances on numerous cooking shows (including alongside MasterChef UK Judge John Torode) and collaborations with celebrity chefs Silvena Rowe and Jean-Christophe Novelli. Robert Kusy's leading role promises to bring an exciting and delicious new approach to the club that won 'Restaurant of the Year' at the Federation of Small Businesses awards, as well as the Time Out London Love London Award for 'Best Club & Bar in Covent Garden & The Strand' 2 years running.

Reflecting its theatrical environment, the walls of The Phoenix Artist Club are lined with signed posters, and pictures from decades of productions. With a restored Art Deco interior, hidden treasures lie in every corner.

The Phoenix Artist Club in London is a short walk from both Tottenham Court Road and Covent Garden Tube stations.

Apparently the butcher had not delivered. Wanted 2 Chicken Kiev meals but they only had 1 left. This proved to be rather over cooked as did the Potato Cakes with smoked salmon and quite dry. Fish and chips were good and large portioned.
Starter salad and cheesecake desert were average.

Lovely welcome and friendly atmosphere. We had 2 courses for £20 including a King Soho gin and tonic which was great value. The fish batter was so light and the chips nice and fluffy on the inside, perfect! There was a singer and pianist called Elsa Chapman who is fantastic. I would suggest that they re-position the piano so that everyone can see who is playing as most of the room could only see the top of her head! Loved it!

A quirky place but great food and ambiance make it a definite place to go for a pre-theatre meal. The chef offers a variety of foods, served in traditional and modern ways to accomplish a menu from which everyone could find something to enjoy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Drink selection is extensive with cask ales and a range of lagers.

Quirky place tucked away but well signposted. Staff friendly and welcoming. We had the pre-theatre menu of two courses + glass of Prosecco for £17:95 and thought it very good value. The menu was varied with lots of choice: portions were generous and very tasty. Service was good snd we finished in good time for the theatre.

Fabulous experience. The setting was really unique, very arty with all the memorabilia. The service was lovely, all the staff were really friendly. The food was excellent. amazingly good value with the deal. Our party of 9 were all very impressed and we are all definitely keen to go back asap! What a find...one of the few independents, go and support them, you won't be disappointed.
