Set in the small village of Hightown, The Pheasant – Liverpool is a rustic retreat with a cosy atmosphere. Serving a menu of modern British food with a hint of Northern style, the pub’s wood panelling, olive-and-cream walls, and cushioned seating make it a homey place to enjoy a wholesome meal.

Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Pheasant menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.

A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Pheasant – Liverpool cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.

The Pheasant in Merseyside is a 4-minute drive from Hightown Rail Station.

Soup barely warm, garlic bread dripping with grease and not cooked properly, one of the pizza bases burnt, very poor

A really relaxing and comfortable environment and friendly service. Food choices are varied and cater for every palate. I particularly liked the lighter bites suitable for lunchtime which leave room for the best crumble for dessert that I have tasted in such a long time.

Awful Sunday diner Had the lamb rump, full of fat , i had to ask for a steak knife. Even that wouldnt cut through it .The roasties were black stale and looked and tasted like they were a hundred years old
.And they had the absoulte cheek to charge £17.00 for this.
The last time we went the food and service was awful too, but that was on a sat, and so we decided to give it another go last night on sun.
Were we only there 30 mins, as it was so bad the food and service .Kept waiting and getting ignored, whilst they pandered over larger groups. We were just 2 covers.
I would never go again if i was paid too.
They need to up there game

Absolutely love The Pheasant. It's in a beautiful little spot and on a sunny day the view is wonderful. The food is fantastic; we can't fault it. The roast beef roast was very tasty and the cheesecake, amazing! Currently my favourite place to eat out.

Lovely surroundings. Very pleasant and helpful staff.
Food took ages to come. But it was quite tasty and beautifully presented

It was Mothers Day, a busy restaurant and the service was a little slow - particularly dessert which arrived after we had finished our coffee. Food generally good but Creme Brûlée not the best we've had.

Recently renovated and very nice restaurant-nice atmosphere, some dishes a little on the expensive side for a pub but overall would recommend a visit. Food was of good quality, fresh and tasty. Service a little slow but was quite busy when we dined.

Nice atmosphere and both service and food were very good. Plenty of staff so we didn't have to wait. Plenty of selection of dishes for all courses and meals delivered on hot plates which is rare nowadays. Recommend a visit me will be going again.
