Surrounded by beautiful Northumberland countryside, The Percy Arms is a wonderfully inviting rural pub. Serving an extensive menu, there is also al fresco seating and roaring fires to cosy up to.

The Percy Arms menu serves a range of classic British pub meals given gourmet twists. Light bites include Scottish mussels cooked in white wine and garlic cream, and there are Bamburgh sausages served on candy mashed potato with Chainbridge wholegrain and honey jus. In-house smoked haddock is served with a wild mushroom and hollandaise sauce, and there is a selection of prime steaks.

Sunday lunch is a popular draw at The Percy Arms Northumberland, with a range of meats served. Sumptuous desserts include warm chocolate brownie, and the bar has a selection of cask ales, with a full wine list also served.

Combining British pub tradition with contemporary gourmet tweaks, The Percy Arms sits 20 minutes' drive from Chatton Rail Station.

The new style is quietly country, very friendly and welcoming. We sat in the bar area and watched a steady stream of customers enjoying a relaxed Sunday lunchtime. There was a family party in the restaurant, which is slightly more formal, but equally warm and pleasant. Our guest who is a wheelchair user was able to come into the Percy Arms through the side entrance and our table allowed space for everyone to circulate easily - and the toilet facilities are excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed excellent traditional Sunday roasts, sweets and lovely coffee.

I am looking forward to my next visit.
