Overlooking the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace, The Palace Lounge is a tranquil retreat within The Rubens hotel. Afternoon tea at The Palace Lounge pays respect to tradition whilst incorporating fresh twists.

Befitting its location, the Royal Afternoon Tea features mouth-watering pastries influenced by royal events. Savour jam pennies, red velvet cupcakes influenced by the House of Stuart or the chocolate biscuit cake, a favourite of Prince William and Prince Harry.

The traditional menu is also adapted for younger diners, in the form of the Little Prince and Princess Tea. Young diners can enjoy bit-size sandwiches, fresh scones and pastries, and a choice of milkshake, hot chocolate, tea or soft drink.

Able to accommodate any special dietary requirement, afternoon tea at The Palace Lounge London is a quintessentially British affair. Victoria Rail Station is a short walk away.

Afternoon tea at The Palace Lounge was a very pleasant experience. The food was exciting and tasty, and was very well presented. The tea was nice and abundant, although we would have preferred a little bit more flavour. The people who met us and took care of us during the meal were both professional and kind, which was very much appreciated. As far as the music is concerned, we found the choice of music very good, the piano playing clever and nice, but the singer's voice was not quite up to the standard one would expect in this kind of restaurant. But all in all a very nice experience. And no worries if you are not Royal or a celebrity - we are ordinarily people and were met in a most polite and friendly manner. Highly recommendable - I will go back if I have the opportunity.

Lovely place for afternoon tea after a tour of Buckingham Palace. Good variety of sandwiches and loved the fact we had lemon curd as well as jam and cream with the scones. Lovely selection of cakes, and there was a chocolate mousse as well but sadly couldnt manage it. Service was reasonable but would have liked to be asked if we needed, more tea. However pot of hot water was provided. We also had a glass of Prosecco to round off the experience. It was cheaper to order it there than have to book via Red Letter experience.

I dined here for Afternoon Tea with my Mother and can honestly say the food was shocking. I have had Afternoon tea several times before and have always been happy with the service and quality of food elsewhere. But the "Palace" was a huge let down. The sandwiches were wet and soggy and we found a large fish bone in the smoked haddock sandwich. The sandwich flavours were far too strong and didn't compliment each other at all. The scones and pastries were dry and tasted very stale and the jam was the consistency of water. Everything lacked flavour massively. I definitely would not dine here again and do not recommend it. I'm trying not to let it put me off Afternoon tea for good!!
