On the banks of the River Soar, The Otter in Kegworth is a fine sight, with its old world-style white and cream timber design. Boasting well-loved British pub cuisine, to be enjoyed from the cosy log-fire or outside in the al fresco garden, it has great countryside views. With stylish art adorning the walls and colourful cushions and curtains, The Otter has a warm and homely feel.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Otter menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Otter ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

In the peaceful country village of Kegworth, The Otter is merely 8 minutes’ from Loughborough.

Nice food but very slow service, dirty tables, no loo roll in ladies loo.

Very pleasant service, good food and nice ales. More veggie options would be good but they were very accommodating to individuals' needs.

We enjoyed our first visit and would recommend it to our friends. We thought the ladies and gents toilets were in need of updating

6 of us ate together after work, our meals were all amazing, Waygu Burgers are big and tasty, the sharer starters are so tasty and a good size to share. I had ribeye steak and it was cooked to perfection, my collegue had a steak also but it wasn't a good one, very fatty and full of sinue, we told the waitress and she told the manager who came over to apologise and offered another steak or to take it off the bill. All in all good service and lovely food besides one of the steaks.
Atmosphere was nice, love a real fire.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The service was excellent. Food was hot, delicious and reasonably priced. Decor was comfortable though stairs down to the toilets needed a good clean.

There is a reasonable choice of dishes on the menu, although not so much for vegetarians, however the meals we had were very good overall. One of our desserts was not very hot though. The decor is ok but looking a bit tired now and could do with a bit of freshening up, particularly in the toilets and the stairs leading down to them. It was warm when we first got to the restaurant, with a blazing log fire which looked very cosy, however as we sat there it seemed to get quite chilly when the front and side door kept opening, and the fire was very smoky. It might have been better if the radiators had been turned up a little more (I put my coat over my knees to keep the draught off). The staff were very good; helpful, friendly and attentive. Overall I think it was perhaps slightly expensive for the meal we had, but if the temperature and decor were improved it would be worth it!
