Having a light lunch in the Orangery was one of the best dining experiences we ever had.The setting is beautiful, we got a table right at the windows, looking at the gardens. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant is different from any other , opulence is the first word which comes to mind. Elegantly decorated and not over decorated, your eyes are constantly drawn to the beautiful gardens. The waiters are professionals, extremely polite, chatty, they know the menu, they know how long it takes to get a certain dish done. For starters we had spring pea souffle , goats curd , pea shoots, lemon and herb oil, which was magnificent! The souffle was high and fluffy and light and just superb! For mains we had trout with basil pesto on the top, on a bed of tomatoes and artichoke. Brilliant dish, the artichoke heart was beautifully prepared and cooked, the trout was juicy. Tiny bit of criticism , I think the size of the trout could have been a bit bigger. For dessert we had warm chocolate t tart with pistachio ice cream, pulled chocolate crisp. It was divine! We had a bottle of gorgeous white wine, and as a special treat , Louis the Assistant Manager took us out in the garden, and we could have a few pictures taken!

A delicious Sunday roast, both beef and lamb tender just how we like it.
The Orangery is very elegant with a wonderful view of the formal gardens.

A wonderful day. The food was excellent and the atmosphere superb and all enhanced by the friendly and pleasant staff. We have only had Lunch here but from observations and our own experience we would not hesitate to recommend it for anything.

The Orangery is a very pleasant environment and is conveniently located in the buildings adjacent to the Palace. It's not a long lunch menu but it's interesting and offers enough choice. The food was well cooked and presented. The staff were pleasant and friendly and the service was very good.
