A homely local pub, The One Bull serves fresh, regional and seasonal foods, as well as its own craft ale and an extensive wine selection. Open fires and squashy leather armchairs are littered against a sprawling wine display backdrop, while the glass-ceilinged lounge is filled with natural light.
Sourcing excellent ingredients from local suppliers, The One Bull menu showcases sterling British classics and eclectic European flavours. Enjoy comfort food offerings like Pollock, chorizo and white bean stew, or slow-braised shoulder of lamb with boulangere potatoes and roasted carrots. Sunday roasts are also a firm favourite.
Alongside a wine list that combines old favourites with quirky and unusual bottles, The One Bull in Bury St Edmunds sources much of its bar stock from its very own micro-brewery. Sample pale ale and best bitter, as well as a range of seasonal brews.
A cosy retreat for gourmet cuisine and a superb cellar, The One Bull pub is in the historic heart of the town, and is a 10-minute walk from Bury St Edmunds Train Station.

My Grandson and I enjoyed our lunch on Sunday . All the courses we chose came up to expectations.
The only downside was the table we were seated . It was very close to where coats were hung so there was constantly people almost touching us retrieving their coats.
I think if another area for this purpose was found it would greatly improve the enjoyment of your clients.
The table in question is table 5.
My next visit i would ensure I am not given that table.

Excellent service with a "human touch". Food great but chicken salad a little lacking which staff accepted and suitably reduced price but nonetheless....
Will go back when back in town.

We arrived early for our booking and were made to feel welcome even though the tank,e was not ready. This fantastic level of friendly and welcoming service remained throughout the meal. The restaurant manger, who also provided service at the table, was engaging, polite and very professional.
My daughter had 3 courses from the children's menu, all portions were a perfect size for her, even though she was defeated by the last two mouthfuls of Sticky toffee pudding. The rest of us shared 2 starters, the fish cakes with a perfect poached egg was phenomenal, and my son made short work of his adult sized shoulder of pork. My rib eye was cooked to perfection. The one downside was the Hake which was a little dry and an unexpected cut.
The house red wine was absolutely fantastic.
All in all a superb dining experience and we will all be back again.

Fantastic meal yet again at The One Bull. We have visited in the past and the food is always delicious and the staff are very friendly. One of our party needed both gluten and dairy free options and we were very pleased to see a menu dedicated purely to this and the Hake dish was absolutely superb! The One Bull really is a jewel in the heart of Bury St Edmunds and we look forward to visiting again very soon!
