The beautiful 16th-century ABode boutique hotel hosts The Old Brewery Tavern in Canterbury, a traditional pub with a bright courtyard area. With Kentish beers alongside fine wine and champagne, the European menu features steaks and burgers from an indoor barbecue.

A contemporary restaurant in a historic city, the Old Brewery Tavern menu displays local touches. The big tavern platters are great to share, with the Kentish picnic platter making the most of local cheeses, chutneys and homemade breads.

Among innovative lunch options, try chicken and pancetta croquettes or rustic duck terrine. Every Sunday sees a traditional roast, while one of many local cask-conditioned ales gives a kick to Old Brewery Tavern beer-battered fish and chips.

Lively evenings at Old Brewery Tavern regularly feature live music and DJs. Right on the High Street, The Old Brewery Tavern is a 9-minute walk from Canterbury West Train Station.

It was ok! Not much of an atmosphere, there was only one other booking.
Quite a restricted selection, although recognise we were on a deal.
The service was very good and the waiters were very attentive. The food was delicious, although the main course of fish was VERY buttery; a little too much butter.

I've eaten here several times and have previously thought IT superb.
The majority of the food was excellent - however one meal for our party was very delayed - even though the restaurant was quiet and the chips accompanying the meals were under cooked.
The pub was hosting a music event and we were asked politely but repeatedly to finish our drinks and leave - it was not therefore the relaxed evening we hoped for

Went for the two courses and bottle of wine for two people for £30. Starter or sweet with main meal. Limited choice of 4 starters and 4 mains which are quite varied so didn't have to ponder the menu for ages. The staff are very friendly and attentive and we did not have to wait very long for our food. The food was very good, well presented and better than expected. The table arrangement is very good so that you can talk easily without worrying that everyone is listening to your conversation. Will definitely visit again but would probably try the proper menu next time.

We dined late lunchtime (2.15pm), and were the only ones there. However, our order was quite slow to arrive and then two orders were incorrect and as there appeared to be a large number of kitchen staff/chefs this was surprising. We were given a good discount which helped the situation but overall it was disappointing.
