Everyone in our party of four really enjoyed the meal and the general 'feel' of the pub. Great that we could order half of a dish for the older members!

Offering al fresco dining and rustic interiors, The Oat Sheaf is a cosy country pub in the upscale town of Fleet, serving modern British dishes with a hint of Mediterranean influence. With fur-lined chairs, cowhide-covered barstools and large bay windows, the pub is a cosy retreat.

With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Oat Sheaf menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest available ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include pan-fried sea bass fillets, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.

The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Oat Sheaf bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and eclectic sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.

The Oat Sheaf in Hampshire is a 4-minute walk from Fleet Station.

Great steak and camembert. Nice atmosphere

Good selection of food but although booked a table for 2 in the restaurant we ended up near the bar which was extremely noisy. No heating in that area as radiator cold. Uninsulated doors behind us which opened to outside. We ended up putting our coats back on! Food pretty but small portions and expensive - example of the scallop starter for £10.50 - 3 small scallops on a smear of puréed asparagus and a few salad leaves!

Disappointing Table of 11 with mixed up and unidentified food. Some items missing
    Burgers were overcooked

We were given the table we wanted in our favourite little alcove by the bar where we could soak up the atmosphere while enjoying the friendly and efficient service. The food, as usual, was excellent and very well presented. A most enjoyable evening.

The service was very good but sadly the roast chicken was very bland - gravy had no flavour at all. I wouldn't return for a roast! Our son's enjoyed their burgers though! X

Got to say - not as good as the last few times my wife and I used the restaurant - perhaps because we were working off the Valentines Day menu, didn't really fancy much on there and didn't know that the other regular menu was still available. We also thought it a bit expensive for what arrived - which included some French Onion Soup that was awful and a not too nice cut of very chewy lamb - No matter - the staff, as always, were courteous and 'on-the-ball' and the sharing sweet that ended our meal - was delightful. Our experience for the night wasn't too good - but the memory of past successes means we will definitely return.
