A Michelin-starred restaurant inside a 15th-century thatched building, The Nut Tree Inn Murcott blends rural charm with modern British cuisine. With a relaxed feel and tranquil outdoor seating, the pub also boasts tranquil outdoor sitting overlooking Oxfordshire countryside.

Fresh, local produce packs The Nut Tree Inn menu, which changes regularly to adapt to the seasons.     The Nut Tree is my favourite restaurant. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, the atmosphere warm and welcoming and the food is always amazing! My Mum has a food intolerance and the chef did a different amuse bouche for her and a different sauce with her main meal. We also love the caramel eggs!

    Good service, excellent food and pleasant ambience, although a table in the pub area which we had on our first visit had better atmosphere.. Perhaps slightly too quick in terms of service between courses but better than being too slow. Table was trucked away a little into the corner and might have been better angled around the corner like the opposite table.Overall very friendly and great food.Every course was superb and the tastes from each aspect of each dish were top class.

    My husband and I enjoyed our lunch at the nut tree. We were greeted in a warm and friendly manor and offered a drink upon arrival. We ordered the house cider which was a refreshing start to the afternoon. We found the menu a little underwhelming nothing unusual or different however something for everyone, a fish, veg and meat option. The chefs gift, crab bisque was tasty and our starters of scallops and imberico ham were enjoyable. Mains of pork belly and duck were all perfectly cooked and seasoned well. We shared a lovely bottle of red in front of the wood burner which on a cold January afternoon was very cosy, we felt contented and relaxed. Overall a good experience, my only criticism would be my coffee the cup was only half full and luke warm. We will return to the nut tree but hope the chef will add a little perzaz the next time we visit.

    We had been to the Nut Tree back in October when family were visiting and enjoyed the experience so decided to come back for our Anniversary this month. We were greeted at the door and recognised from our last visit and taken straight through to eat, bring seated near to a nice and cosy wood burner. Very nice as it was a cold night.

    We opted for the tasting menu and asked to change one if the dishes that I did not like, this was not a problem as long as we both changed. The replacement we chose was acceptable. We enjoyed every dish from the leek and potato cappuccino to the goat cheese beetroot and balsamic plate, a classic combination, through to Iberico Jason with celeriac remoulade, the sea bream with crispy skin, my favourite, Charolais beef tender and delicious. At this point an extra dish of cheese was offered. We declined but still had the chocolate egg and the highlight of prune and Armagnac soufflé.

    The wines we chose were excellent, the NZ Chenin Blanc and the fabulous Brunello. The service was good, a bit prompt on occasion but we were never left too long. An excellent evening.

    I think the only negative criticism I have is that my £18 smoked salmon fishcake was substantially potato and I thought it and the creamed spinach drowned in the tomato sauce (which, incidentally, I had asked to be on the side, but wasn't). Everything else was lovely.
