The eye-catching, sloped red tiles of The Nightingale mark it as a pretty country pub, situated near Worcester. Serving an accomplished menu of British favourites, the pub is adorned with rustic features, such as the classic brick hearth, wooden furniture and traditional trinkets. Your food can be savoured from the warm log-fire in winter, or in the al fresco garden with beautiful views of the surrounding country in better weather.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Nightingale menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Nightingale ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
Tranquil and away from other towns, The Nightingale is only 9 minutes’ drive from the historic Worcester.

Food good but service slow

Nice atmosphere and location but the service was slow and quality of one of the meals very poor with little recognition of this fact. They did replace the meal with an alternative but it did impact on the occasion.

The food was good but the service took an age and we only had one course and it was not busy. Ladies upstairs not easy access. Staff friendly table comfortable. Drinks quite expensive.

The Nightingale looks like a cosy pub when you enter, but there was no-one to welcome you (as normal) and we had to find someone to take us to our table.
The food was very poor quality especially the overcooked prawns and scallops which were served in boiling watery garlic butter ;the bread accompanying this dish was obviously left under hot lights and was toasted and dry (no butter provided). My husband's soup was fine but the bread was again toasted with no butter. The main dish looked okay but the chicken has been left under a heating device rendering the top half inedible because it was too tough. The vegetables were tepid. The gravy was lumpy. There was a skin on the mashed potatoes due to over-microwaving (I presume). We would have complained - however, only two members of staff serving on a Saturday night!! Eventually paid the bill at the bar after deciding not to order desserts. A very disappointing night out.

Great service, very quick at showing us to table and give us plenty of time to order. Lovely main meal and good choices. Enjoyed pudding (Eton mess). Would def go again.

There were 4 people in our party and all decided on what to have, we all decided on Yorkshire ham egg and chips only to be told that this was not available. Having then decided on alternative meals we had a wait of about 40 minutes, we later ordered 4 coffees and were waiting 20 minutes and had to go and remind them. We have eaten here before when service was much better.

Food was very very slow. Table service dreadful. No olives, no bread, no cheese board, looked like no manager either. Roast pork however was very very good.

Overall it was a pleasant evening. We were surprised how quiet the car park was for a Saturday evening which isn't a good sign but overall the meal was good (3.5 out of 5). Quality of food overall was very good but there were a few things that let it down . Firstly the menu prices on the pub menu were more expensive than the menu I downlaoded from the Bookatable website. Food was exactly the same but the prices were more expensive on the actual menu !! Secondly I asked for custard with my dessert and it came with ice cream. That wasnt a problem as mistakes happen but I nearly fell of my chair when the waitress brought out my custard - It arrived in something that was no bigger than a salt/pepper pot so there was next to no custard in it and what was in it I had to dig out with the edge of a knife. Finally the service & quality of staff wasn't to the standard that I would have expected.

The food was below the normal standard . We both had fish and chips and the was more additional batter than fish . Taking up the bookatable offer on 20% on the total bill was disappointed that only included the food and not the glass of wine and pint of beer that was part of the meal. Beer was very expensive I do not agree with paying over £4.00 for a real ale beer and will not be returning to this pub/ restaurant
