Very nice food well presented, friendly staff and charming surroundings [also at the end of my street which is extremely convenient!]

Mixing country vintage with the warm charm of a gastro pub, The Mulberry serves a modern British menu. In the buzz of Norwich's Golden Triangle area, this fairy tale retreat offers an accomplished bar stock, hearty food menu, and a selection of hand-crafted cakes throughout the day.

Featured on the mouth-watering menu are braised guinea fowl on a bubble & squeak cake with bacon lardons & bread sauce, pan-fried mascarpone gnocchi with basil pesto, and braised shin of beef in red wine with roasted beef marrow. For breakfast, The Mulberry serves a full English, as well as a full vegetarian breakfast and a selection of pastries.

The whitewashed Mulberry dining room is filled with mismatched vintage trinkets and flooded with natural light, while outdoor garden furnishings are encircled by colourful hanging baskets, and al fresco dining is encouraged on sunny days. Traditional roast is served each Sunday, and the afternoon vintage tea parties are ever popular.

The Mulberry in Norfolk is just a 10-minute drive from Norwich Rail Station.

Probably not the best evening to judge as they were in the middle of refurbishment and everything was a little chaotic. On arrival we were offered ataster menu instead of a full choice as tables and chairs were limited. They were awaiting arrival of these so the taster option was an appeasement without charge. The table and chairs were still covered in dust and we had to reposition them as an enormous plant was vying for space. We were facing a window which unfortunately had the setting sun in our eyes. A blind or drapes would have helped. Having said all that, the food offered was of a high standard and after around 17 tasters we were well and truly full. I probably would return if only to see whether they had repositioned the hanging planter that the poor waitressess kept hitting their heads on, but also to give the benefit of the doubt as to whether the dining experience would be worth it.

My husband and I visited The Mulberry on recommendation from our daughter. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, the girl who served us was a delight especially as she had some rather awkward customers to deal with at another table whilst we were there! The food was lovely and a bit different from the usual Gastro pub food. We tried a bottle of the New Zealand Sauvignon blanc which went down a treat. Can't wait to return
