Lovely meal but we were dissapointed as we seemed to be sitting in a busy walkway.

as always it was a wonderful evening, food top notch, service with a smile.

Excellent meals. We were delighted by the serving of the rolls in little terracotta pots - a novel way to serve them and, importantly, they tasted as good as they looked! We only had two courses but all five of us rated the meals tasty and well-presented.

Four of us came for Afternoon Tea. First of all, it was a cold day and the room was not very warm at all. How about lighting the fire for a wonderful ambience? Despite the fact we had booked and you knew we wanted 4 traditional afternoon teas at 3.30 pm, the sandwiches were nice but too cold - straight out of the fridge. It would be good if on the menu where it stated fruit or cheese scone, it said 'with jam and cream' (as you state under cream tea). As it didn't, I chose the cheese scone which was hugely disappointing - a lump of plain scone with melted cheese stuck on top - not my idea of a delicious cheese scone. The sweet selection was ok but all very brown except a pink macaroon.

I'm sad to say that I was quite disappointed with my dining experience. Although the staff were friendly the place where we were seated for our afternoon tea was very cold & had no atmosphere. The sandwiches were ok. The cheese scones had no flavour what so ever & were difficult to eat as they were so crumbly. Overall it was a really poor affair & one that I certainly would not recommend.

Surprised to still be asked to review the restaurant when our booking was cancelled due a power cut 30 minutes beforehand. We didn't receive a cancellation email but were contacted by phone whilst we were enroute so were able to turn around and go back home to try and find somewhere else that could fit us in.

The restaurant was chilly, however this was because they had had a power cut. The food was excellent. The service was not up to the usual standard when we had visited before.
