Headed by Michelin-starred chef Nathan Outlaw, The Mariners Public House is a contemporary pub and restaurant overlooking the Camel Estuary. Fantastic local produce is served, with live music events also featuring.

The Mariners Public House menu is packed with freshly caught seafood – there are Cornish mussels cooked in Wolf Rock IPA, Porthilly oysters with shallot vinegar, and potted Cornish crab served with Doom Bar bread. Steaks at The Mariners come exclusively from South West Farms, aged on the bone for 28-32 days.

There is also a popular Sunday lunch menu at The Mariners Public House Rock, including free range roast pork, vegetarian options like rosemary gnocchi, and desserts like Cornwall strawberries with vanilla set cream. As well as beers from Sharpe's Brewery, there are over 20 bottled varieties from around the world.

Showcasing the very best in Cornish produce, The Mariners Public House is a 35-minute drive from Roche Rail Station.

Party of 10 of us down for a long weekend and our first visit to the restaurant. First impressions were very good - reception good, nice table and staff very friendly. We had Sunday lunch and everyone enjoyed the dishes served (roast beef, pork and hake) both in terms of presentation and taste. Beer was also very good. If I had a criticism it was that we were presented with too much food!

Sunday lunch - excellent as ever. Not the cheapest but plentiful, great quality and flavour. Plenty of veg too.

Good interesting menu and specials. Friendly and efficient staff. Great views. Along with the St Enodoc restaurant and the Dining Room, Rock now gives real competition to the Padstow restaurants.

We had a great evening at the Mariners pub. Lovely food, great atmosphere and very kids and doggie friendly. Only downside, kids portion size is small for older children.

    Rather disappointing...
Steak and fish were very good but pies were dry and mostly pastry so overpriced.
