It was fantastic! The exceptional view, the relaxed atmosphere and friendly/happy staff. The Beef, the fish dish (Ling) and lemon treacle pudding with custard-all perfectly cooked

Headed by Michelin-starred chef Nathan Outlaw, The Mariners Public House is a contemporary pub and restaurant overlooking the Camel Estuary. Fantastic local produce is served, with live music events also featuring.

The Mariners Public House menu is packed with freshly caught seafood – there are Cornish mussels cooked in Wolf Rock IPA, Porthilly oysters with shallot vinegar, and potted Cornish crab served with Doom Bar bread. Steaks at The Mariners come exclusively from South West Farms, aged on the bone for 28-32 days.

There is also a popular Sunday lunch menu at The Mariners Public House Rock, including free range roast pork, vegetarian options like rosemary gnocchi, and desserts like Cornwall strawberries with vanilla set cream. As well as beers from Sharpe's Brewery, there are over 20 bottled varieties from around the world.

Showcasing the very best in Cornish produce, The Mariners Public House is a 35-minute drive from Roche Rail Station.

The pickled oysters were delicious and unusual but the ling was a revelation! Rich creamy white flakes if fish in a crisp crumb. As good as anything on the coast, the chicken was done to perfection and the baked custard was a perfect finish. To be recommended to all who visit Padstow and the area.

    Fish starter was average.
Ham hock starter was tasty but very greasy.
Both had chicken satay which was plain and lacking in flavour.

Excellent meal, delicious and generous portions. Particularly liked the slightly different take on the vegetables served - delicious. The restaurant was busy but staff were extremely attentive but not obtrusive and we did not have to wait for food. A second vegetarian option would have been good but at the suggestion of the waitress (Rosie) the chef delivered a roast dinner option. Thank you.

Very enjoyable meal again no complaints re booked already. My wife missed no having rice pudding on the desert menu one of her favourites

Really enjoyed our meal. The food was delicious and the service excellent, with a short waiting time. If I had to find a negative it would be the noise level. With so many hard surfaces the noise made it difficult to hear the conversation around the table.

Fantastic food. The first time I had ever ordered a fish finger in a restaurant and it was worth the wait! The veggie curry was also first class.
