With al fresco dining space in its leafy gardens, The Marchmont Arms is a refurbished country-style pub serving modern British fare. As well as a light-filled conservatory for dining, the pub comprises a bar & restaurant decked out with crushed-velvet seats & wooden floors, and warmed by open log fires.

With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Marchmont Arms menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.

The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Marchmont Arms bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.

The Marchmont Arms is a 9-minute drive from Hemel Hempstead Rail Station.

Restaurant looks great, menu looked great, not cheap so was looking forward to a really nice meal but was unimpressed very unimpressed with the fish and chips. Frozen, bland, unseasoned fished fried in very old oil, equally uninspiring chips and peas. Won't be rushing back

Service average and food not great ... Arrived over cooked and not very hot .
There was a wedding function so it distracted from usual good service and quality of food .

Excellent service and food. Loved the cheese souffle and sticky chicken. Extra benefit is it is a member of the Gourmet Society. Wonderful dining outside on the terrace.

We have visited the Marchmont Arms on a number of occasions. The staff have always been efficient and friendly.
Last night however 17/02/16 the service was slow,we had to move tables because the back room was cold and one of my guests
had rack of lamb and the meat was tough (he should have complained at the time).
There was also a mix up with the bill at the end.

Food is of a very good standard but service was a little neglectful (although still polite). The tables are quite close together so my boyfriend was repeatedly knocked by staff as they walked passed. The restaurant had run out of the wine I ordered so I was offered a more expensive wine yet no goodwill gesture of having to pay the same price of the wine I'd originally ordered. Have been many times before and never had an issue but things seemed to have slipped slightly since our last visit. Beautiful restaurant though and beautiful food
