Four of us had a uniformly excellent meal at The Mail Room. I would heartily recommend the restaurant - the food was truly excellent and the service attentive and friendly.

Starters overpriced with meagre portions. Staff robotic and humourless. Tables too small. Wine expensive. Limited menu - not everything available. No ambience.

Welcoming and friendly service. We had the special offer 'Market Menu' which was great value at £15.95 per person for three courses. My starter was excellent - gnocci. My main of meatball was very disapointing as it was bland and the spaghetti was overcooked and was more like tinned spaghetti. The sticky toffee pudding was a very nice desert indeed. We drank the half price house wine (a special offer on Wednesdays) and it was very good and amazing value at £9 a bottle.

Overall a very good meal in a nice environment for an exceptionally good price. It was very noisy and echoey.

Early evening dinner on a themed Sausage and Pie evening. The menu matched the theme, with a good selection of pies and sizzlers. The fish pies we both chose were excellent, as were the desserts - home made banoffee pie and apple and cheese pie followed by good coffee. A sensible wine list rounded off the options. There are prix fixee menus at lunchtime and early evening which are very good value. This is a very pleasant and welcoming restaurant, which deserves to succeed. Mike is a convivial host who puts his guests at ease. A good addition to the Ludlow food scene. Look out for the next themed evening in March. Mike has an email list you can join for advance notice of special evenings.
