Inside a breathtaking 5-star hotel overlooking the River Thames, The Lounge at the Royal Horseguards is a unique setting to indulge in a luxurious take on the quintessential British tradition of afternoon tea, with an al fresco terrace also on offer for when the weather allows.

Every aspect of the Lounge at the Royal Horseguards afternoon tea menu has been carefully crafted to offer the finest example of traditional British luxury. For starters, there is a unique signature loose leaf tea of strawberries and cream which perfectly complements the moist scones with indulgent clotted cream and jams. Beautifully presented finger sandwiches come with classic fillings such as smoked salmon, cream cheese, and cucumber, and there are also other contemporary savoury bites too.

Inventive sweet surprises are also served at The Lounge at the Royal Horseguards Westminster, such as marmalade jammy dodger, gooseberry inside-out Victoria sponge, and Pimms almondine. As well as the signature tea, there are other exotic blends like organic Monteviot Darjeeling, Oolong Fleur D'Orient, and Persian Pomegranate. Diners can also choose to add glasses of premium champagnes to their meals.

Housed in one of London's most iconic areas, and with wonderfully elegant touches throughout, The Lounge at the Royal Horseguards London sits 3 minutes' walk from Embankment Tube Station.

    Disappointing.
This is the 6th time I've been here for Afternoon tea as it's normally superb. This time round, sandwiches were dry, scones were half the size as normal and the wrong tea brought out.
Apart from that staff as always superb and attentive and venue is sublime.

Lovely hotel, made to feel really special. The staff were wonderful, nothing was to much trouble, the afternoon tea looked beautiful when I arrived. There was a good selection of sandwiches but a little more filling would have been nice. The cakes and scones looked and tasted delicious and tea was topped up without having to ask. A great way to spend a leisurely afternoon.

Nice table, pleasant service, good range and quantity of food - but anything less at that price wouldn't have been acceptable.

Lovely atmosphere and good service. The afternoon tea was really good and we got as much tea as we needed. A bit costly.

Given the stiff competition for high teas in London, the standard for good is set high. The Horseguards doesn't really make the grade for me. Everything is fine... food ok, service ok etc. But for £55 per head (by the time you've added champagne and service charge) my experience is you can get better food, slicker service in a much nicer setting elsewhere.

The afternoon tea was lovely, the food was delicious, service was outstanding and the atmosphere at the venue was exquisite. Would definitely recommend this to everyone.

We had a lovely afternoon tea, delicious sandwiches, divine scones with clotted cream and jam.. Fantastic cakes to round it all up. The tea selection was wonderful with somethibg for everyone. The vegetarian in the group go wonderful sandwiches as well. The Royal Horseguards was a fantastic place for afternoon tea, quiet and luxurious. We had a great time and it was hard leaving our seats to get on with the day.
